Fino Hotel and Suites

Super average rooms and poor service, no shampoo or Body wash provided, we asked and still got none, room average at best, one of bedrooms has window into the atrium where light shone thru all night, if you want sleep take earplugs and eye mask. No tv in bedrooms, parking $10 per night, ok location, couch uncomfortable, bed average at best. Never stay agian, never recommend

Our room was spacious and pleasant enough despite being outdated and a few damages. Decent basic amenities, though.However, the whole hotel occasionally smelt like sewage and was very cold and uninviting. It is in major need of a renovation and some TLC! Staff should show a bit more enthusiasm too…Note to future guests- their restaurant is not actually open anymore! Something that is not specified on their website!! We were disappointed by this as well.

Excellent place, huge rooms, plus kitchen. No TV in bedrooms. The outside is a bit basic but the rooms are very nice. Staff were great only 4 star for service because this is an apartment hotel not a full service establishment.Recommended

This hotel is a gem! Centrally located, across the road from the Chch Town Hall and about 250 - 400 metres (2-3 minute walk) door to door to the Chch Casino.With a unique leafy centre Atrium complete with fountain (unfilled during our visit) within and the hotel rooms surrounding the peremeter there is an ambiance of Italian inspired serenity.We scored a great deal with a 2 bed apartment (Super King in one room, Queen in other, and we believe pull out Sofabed), complete with full kitchen, living, dining areas and built in laundry, plus two balconies-for under $150.00. Some areas of the decor (paint touch ups on walls) appeared tired and/or in midst of upgrading, but we loved the linens and window coverings.Overall we found all the staff to be very friendly, including those who worked in the (leased?) adjoining restaurant, which serves breakfast options from 06:30 am.Note: there is undercover parking within the hotel for just over 50 vehicles at an extra cost of $10 (per day, or 24 hr period). If full due to late arrival, the Hotel Reception will organise alternative parking outside (nearby) for same cost. We were pleased that a staff member called us a day ahead to check our time of arrival so that a parking space was anticipated to be available for us, since we arrived as planned before 4pm. 'Romeo' was especially helpful.In general, we would highly recommend this accommodation, especially for anyone who plans to stay for central city events or attractions (Town Hall/James Hay Theatre, Art Gallery, Riverside Market, Casino, Botanic Gardens, etc.) and/or day walks or tours, without need for use of vehicle.

The rooms were really nice, but there was no soap in the shower area (we had to use the one from the sink), and no towel rail. Also the walls are really thin, so talking from the next room kept us awake. A nice quiet area at night, but no ventilation in the bedrooms unless you keep the doors open!
