Novotel New Plymouth Taranaki

The first night it was freazing. Aircon would not work. Finally it starts working and the cleaners changed it from heating to cooling so we came back to a freazing cold room. On a 6 degree day. U get one towel each which is a joke. The room seevice food was disgusting. The meat lovers pizza had a very old freazer ruined budget crust with packet shaved ham and no sauce. The cheesecake tasted off.The receptionist were lovely, helpful and pleasant. The bed is cumfy. The bathroom products are nice.I just can't enjoy myself if I have to freaze or eat terrible food.

What a Novotel should be.This is a well run hotel, clean, spacious rooms and friendly staff. We did an 3 day road trip staying at a different Novotel each night and the Novotel New Plymouth was the best of the three. We enjoyed the offerings in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast. I hope to stay there again.

Room is on the smaller side, no coffee in room. Tv stopped working. Very trending light switches but useless in the middle of the night unless you are trying to wake up the wife. Huge shower A+ rubbish pressure C-. Cheap pillows. We met friends in the restaurant for dinner which ended up totalling $689, any other restaurant on any other day you could have the same meal for $400. They charged $120 for a bottle of wine which you can source for $45, no excuses Novotel price gouging is not on. Steak was cooked beautifully but poorly presented and very over priced. I only paid because is was more interested in catching up with friends. Staff were brilliant and the only reason you're not getting 1 star.

I really enjoyed 2 nights staying in Novotel New Plymouth hotel! Your staff customer service was wonderful! From reception, restaurant staff to housekeeping team, they were so helpful and always kept smile. We really felt welcomed to be here and your staff provided 5 star service.I have been staying many different hotel in New Zealand, I found that you are the best one so far. Even better than 5 star hotel in Auckland!Thank you team! You did the great job! And thank you for your service! I really recommend here!!

Well positioned near town centre, new, clean room. The bed was comfy enough, although the room is slightly tinier than my expectation. No bathtub which was a downside of the room. No complimentary water nor drinks provided ,no toothbrush and slippers. I would expect those for 4 stars hotel.For those who drive EV,it seems to be challenging to get charger, I emailed prior to reserve the spot, unfortunately it was double booked with their DIAMOND customer. And there were lack of communications with receptionist and I and the person who charging at that time (it was non-reserved person) which made me to stay with stresses for the fact whether i will be leaving this town with enough battery to get next chargenet. Long story short, the manager jumped on to help, came with compensation to make myself free from the stresses. Overall, it was good stay, i wish they have better systems for EV drivers e.g. time slots.Be mindful their charger is only 3 kWh and there is only one chargenet in New Plymouth in front of New world.

The team at the Novotel made for an amazing night for our wedding. They were attentive the the guests needs with particularly amazing service for the bridal party.The food was great, and the timing was awesome.When the guests hadn’t arrived at the right time the manager did a great job of rescheduling the meals and creating a new schedule that worked more naturally.There was some hiccups with the set up but the Novotel worked well to have it all sorted by the time the reception started.Thanks heaps!

Rooms were clean but ours didn’t have any windows. 2 star rating only because they charged us $200 bond during check in and when I followed up about getting it back they said they have cleared it but can’t do anything if it’s not credited immediately as that depends on the bank’s timeline. They advised I do the follow up with the bank if I want to know the status of the credit. Major inconvenience.
