The Carriage House-Bay of Islands

Wonderful stay for our family. Adrian and Sylvia were great hosts and provided really helpful advice on local activities. The property was peaceful and relaxing with nice opportunities for interacting with the horses. Would love to go back.

Fantastic place to stay. The Carriage house is set in beautiful and tranquil surroundings and is very well appointed. Everything is clean, neat and very well maintained, containing everything you could want on your stay. Our delightful hosts were very attentive to our needs and have a wealth of local knowledge to share. I have no hesitation in recommending the Carriage House.

A fantastic stay! Two days of fascinating stories of horses, vintage cars, antique furniture, rides in wagons pulled by lovely Shires and also Gypsy cobs, looking at a vast array of old harness (some from World war One), dining at the Plough and Feather, visiting the Stone Store and Kemp House... the list could go on and on! Grateful thanks to Adrian and his wholehearted welcome!!

We stayed here for a week during our tour of New Zealand, and had a wonderful time.The cottage has all the amenities we could want- is very spacious, comfortable and well equipped. Everything worked, which is not always a given in rental properties. It is near the town of Keri Keri, which has shops and restaurants, but is among just a very few houses down a longish track.The hosts, Adrian and Sylvia, live in their house just nearby, and have been superb hosts. We could not have been made more welcome. They are full of suggestions of places to visit and have been really helpful when we've had any queries.Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cottage to anyone.

The Carriage Hose is special place just far enough out of Kerikeri to be in the countryside but close enough to town for easy access to restaurants or home delivery of takeout food. The apartment is peaceful, tastefully decorated, warm, spacious and spotlessly clean.We enjoyed a special stay for our Opal wedding anniversary and loved the horses and seeing the carriages working. Our dog enjoyed romping about the fully fenced paddock beside the property.Adrian and Sylvia are very welcoming and hospitable. A+ accommodation.

AWESOME!! Definitely a must stay!A delightfully large self-contained two superking bedroom apartment overlooking the river and horse pastures, 5 minutes drive from the centre of Kerikeri.Adrian and Sylvia are superb hosts - it's like going to stay with family not strangers. If you are interested in history at all, then you will love it here even more.We will definitely be back to spend more time with them :)

Adrian and Sylvia were wonderful hosts and The Carriage House was a perfect selection for all the sites that the Bay of Islands has to offer. I fully recommend The Carriage House to all travelling to the Northland of New Zealand. You won't regret it.

We stayed over the Easter weekend and had an amazing time. Great place for kids. My kids enjoyed exploring the farm and Adrian was an amazing host. Ask to see his unique carriage collection. You will not be disappointed. Thanks Adrian and Sylvia!

Stayed for Labour weekend with my family and our dog - easy to find (literally 2 mins outside Kerikeri center), friendly welcome, clean and spacious accommodation.The accommodation was comfortable for four adults with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a well equiped kitchen for self-catering; there are also good food options nearby in Kerikeri. The horses were friendly and had no issues with our dog (or vice versa!). We took kayaks with us and launched from the jetty on the property to kayak on Kerikeri River. Adrian and Sylvia are very nice hosts.

The Carriage House is a beautiful building on a horse farm close to downtown Kerikeri. If you love horses, this is the place to stay! Adrian, Sylvia, Roy, and the others are very friendly and will accommodate your every needs. My wife even spent time learning how to work with the magnificent Shire horses. The unit is the upstairs of the carriage house and is spacious, well equipped, and had the best wifi we encountered in New Zealand. I highly recommend the Carriage House.
