Koutu Fish Shop

My family absolutely enjoyed the fish & chips here! Crunchy fish, mussels & crabstick with herbs throughout batter made it yummy!

Unlike some of the other reviews given, our experience was very disappointing. Whilst the chips were fine, the amount was tiny. Fish was VERY small. Our burgers were the MOST BASIC BURGERS EVER. Cheese burger was literally a patty and cheese, fish burger and egg burger did have the tiniest bit of lettuce or cabbage in it (amount so small you could hardly tell what it was). No other fillings at all. Safe to say, we will not be returning.

We are from out of town, so did a Google and there were a few closer to town but reviews were a little up and down then we found this one. Oh my the chips are amazing crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, the fish was hoki but not dry it was beautiful. The Koutu burger - a bacon and cheese were nice just a lot of meat and buns my husband loved his being the koutu, I would of liked bit more lettuce, tomato and maybe beetroot. Oh before I forget the fish and potato fritters batter was delicious, not many do it with herbs in the batter anymore.But all and all highly recommend as very tasty. Its slightly on the higher price range for burgers but glad we tried. Well done team keep up the fantastic work.

Fish isn't always the best but otherwise a good offering here

The fact they've boosted they're prices in just over a year that loyal families to this place could at one time call affordable, is an outrage. $28 pack now $40 but you get an extra $1 chips, seriously?Just go to Wendy's fish and chips instead.

Chips were probably 3.5 stars, but burger definitely no better than 3. Disappointed that I chose to get dinner here.

Love the fish (Hoki) and chip from Koutu Fish Shop. Staffs were polite and nice, and their customers are similarly warm and friendly. We picked one of the special fish and chip set and it had mussels in it, they were great too. There are seats for waiting on orders but no dine-in options.

Great fish and chips! Excellent price too! Chips were crispy, fish was a good portion, and the batter had herbs through it and was so yum! Maybe a bit too much salt but that could have been us.

Really love the food. The fried rice is not too oily. They're just right. The chop suey is really flavorful. I really recommend their food.
