We are so glad that we waited for a table, this place was fully booked up until 8.45pm.Seafood Chowder absolute winner. This was a game changer of a meal. We had a real runny one at another venue.Chicken burger is a burger who went to culinary school and came back with flavour, juicy thighs and a crispy exterior.The serve of gnocchi was bigger than we deserved and expected.For those who live with coeliac there are so many choices on the menu.The drinks menu is awesome and samples a lot of great local beers, ciders wines and spirits.The Fat Duck will be on my South Island recommendations.

A must eat in Te Anau! Book your table easily online. Servers were super kind and friendly. Food was an amazing 10/10, the mains were flavorful. Must try the salmon and duck wantons which were cooked perfectly.Skip the sides such as the duck fat potatoes and onion rings as they were nothing amazing. Get yourself another main instead.

We saved this for the last of our 4 nights in Te Anau, and it was clear we had saved the best for last. It’s also clear why some sites list this as the best place to eat in town. We got in early evening on a Saturday, and the place was really hopping. We sat in the bar, a great choice because the live music act — Andreas, who plays here every weekend— was great!Service was quick, friendly, and responsive. We loved our beers (guest beer on tap, Hazed and Confused), then got an order of the tempura battered fish and chips, which was perfectly prepared. Dessert was Coconut Rice Pudding, and it was delicious.I do recommend getting reservations, as this truly seems like the biggest draw in town.

This was our treat after completing the Kepler track and feeling famished. Ordered the lamb shank, green lipped mussels, and market fish all of which were cooked perfectly with just the right amount of seasoning. Topped it off with the sticky date pudding to make for one of the best meals we had in New Zealand

Solid pub grub in a nice atmosphere that was tasty and hearty! Waiting staff were friendly and attentive, menu was reasonably priced and food was decent.

Ordered a steak with roast veg and wasn’t too thrilled, unfortunately. The steak was tough and chewy, and not a great cut either - too much gristle. The roast veg were okay, tasted like they’d been parboiled then grilled rather than truly roasted, didn’t have the deep flavour that roasted veg should. On the plus side the staff were lovely and the drinks list was great.

Delightful wait staff. Good menu. Excellent atmosphere and very comfortable indoor chairs. Need to book. Most enjoyable evening. Saturday night live music also excellent.
