Julie was so kind to volunteer her evening to teach our guides unit our Guide Promise and Taps song as well as our names using fingerspelling. The girls are 9-12 and Julie kept them engaged, she was so kind and tentative to questions the girls had. It was fantastic to learn more about deaf culture. We were very grateful Julie came to visit and I would recommend others reach out to her for help in learning more about sign language and deaf culture.

Learnt some basic NZSL with Julie through Sign Equity and I can't recommend them highly enough. Julie was brilliant, friendly, knowledgeable and adaptable with what we wanted to know. The resources provided were excellent and supported our on-going learning. I've so enjoyed the opportunity to learn this language.

Julie taught myself and my both my children aged 2-3 at the time basic NZSL and Deaf culture. She is wonderful, patient and very professional. She was extremely prepared for each of our 10 sessions. I can’t recommend her highly enough.

Brilliant. Thanks, Julie for making it fun and informative, not only teaching us basic sign language but providing a bit of the background and history and culture of the deaf community. More and more people should know this; it should be integrated into society - awareness creates acceptance. Is it taught in schools? It should be!

Julie came and did a course at my hall of residence aimed at those with little to no knowledge of NZSL. She was absolutely fantastic and I thoroughly enjoyed the course. Julie herself is beyond lovely and an excellent teacher, and the structure and content of the course made learning extremely fun and surprisingly quick.I came from having absolutely zero knowledge of NZSL or Deaf culture. I've walked away from the six session course with a far greater awareness of New Zealand Deaf culture, and a level of comprehension of the language which I would have never thought possible from just six hours.I could not recommend a course with SignEquity enough.

Julie is the best! We went through Julie to learn some new signs that can be used on LIVE TV while presenting. She was super encouraging with us making us feel confident to use it on screen. Our session with her was very comfortable too - I never felt silly for asking questions.She was also extremely helpful after our session and left communication open by sending extra videos if we needed them.Most importantly she is patient and kind! Julie is the best of the best - go see her!

I had some private lessons with Julie from Sign Equity Ltd and I found Julie's lessons to be immensely valuable to refresh my NZSL knowledge and also to extend me. Julie was so patient and had helpful ways of helping me to remember particular signs. Julie would adapt to my learning needs and the resource cards I purchased at the end, are top quality and great to have at home to refresh vocab. The website is easy to follow and the videos are also top quality to show you how to do the sign correctly. Thank you so much for all the time and effort you have given to me and for this amazing programme that you offer. You were so easy to communicate with, supportive and so encouraging. I always felt inspired to learn more and very encouraged in my learning. I thoroughly recommend doing a course with Sign Equity Ltd.

Julie is a fantastic teacher! Julie came into our retirement village today and taught both residents and staff sign language for NZSL week. She is highly professional, polite, and patient. I would definitely recommend Julie and I look forward to her coming and teaching us more in the future.
