Aum New Years Festival
About to embark on my 5th Aum festival. I love what these guys do. They make it all about the happy people, family and inclusive vibes, non commercial, hot showers, zero waste policy, so much art everywhere, immersion and in nature. 3 days for camping, chilled days watching circus arts and partaking in yoga, barefeet wandering, costumes, dancing and getting away from city life. High quality sounds and stages and manaakitanga (caring for the environment).Thank you, Aum. See you soon ❤️

Aum New Years Festival
This New Years festival is second to none in multiple areas.Firstly in its ability to provide to its community. By this I mean, the different genre of music and arts being offered at any one moment over five stages. The food and venders selling the tastiest kai and the coolest gear. The activities and workshops ranging from unicorn horn making, Stilt walking classes, yoga, breathwork, dream catcher making to storytelling. And most of all it provides to all by truly being a family event.Secondly AUM has not sold its soul to the alcohol companies. This means that the producers have put their trust in the AUM community, that they want their community to understand their needs and bring what they need. This also means no massively invasasive vehicle searching and removal of one's property all that is asked is no glass!Thirdly the property is simply outstanding and only 45 minutes from central Auckland. And last but not least, the people the people the people. AUM had nurtured a community not created another generic NYE gig, it has grown a way of being a discourse of care that I see no where else. It is a festival that understands it has a duty of care to its people...AUM is like my other family...

Aum New Years Festival
This was one of my absolute favorite festivals during my time living in NZ. I’m so happy to have been introduced to this amazing community through my partner who has been attending AUM since its debut year. It was full of great workshops and interactive activities. My favorite was the communal painting board which I spent about half a day at. The NYE night was magical and colorful. The food options were decent. The only downside is the long lines that form for the cold and hot showers. I can’t wait to attend again in the future if I’m ever back in NZ.

AUM festival is the perfect choice for new years eve and a break away combining the camping experience with a variety of good music and the dance party vibe. There is easy access to food and drink stalls and other boutique stalls selling everything from clothes and sunglasses to crystals and gemstones and a whole load of stuff you're not likely to find at your generic city mall. They have hot showers but the waiting time can be a while. Its promoted as child friendly which it is but theres not that many young ones but those that there are seems to enjoy themselves They don't sell alcohol so its BYO but there is a strict NO glass rule at the event.Basically load up the chilli bin with ice and whatever and your good to go. It Sold out this year so don't leave it until the week before to get tickets if your planning on going.

Aum has done a great job of capturing the spirit of the the dance music festival. There is a diverse crowd from first timers to dedicated burners and everyone in between. The main stage has a range of genres from psy, DnB and techno. The Kanuka stage plays deep rolling house, hosted by the LoFi crew. The hill stage is also hosted by external crews with various dance genres. And the Hub stage caters for bands, live performances, children's events, and the world famous unicorn gathering, hosted by the fabulous Gwendolyn. There is lots of room for camping with friends and most times you can park next to your tent. The toilets are OKish, they are continually upgrading the facilities so hopefully the toilets continue to improveThis isn't the RnV or Northern Bass crowd, there are a lot of older attendees who where in the scene back in the 90s who embody the spirit of PLUR.Definitely recommend if you don't want to hang out with a bunch of drunk kids :D

Even though I only went to the small mid year events, you can tell a great deal of care was put in. The performances were all awesome, and the decoration was on point, especially the main stage.I took my friends who had only listened to D&B before this, and they loved the music

I've visited aum twice now and love the vibe , the art abd the market space. They have a wide range of music and give great deals for oldies, in fact over 65s are free! You can book glamping so no need to sort a load of gear. Lots of amazing costumes everywhere and an awesome kids zone. It's set on a beautiful deer farm, with deer wandering in the distance and stands of kanuka it must be one of new zealand most scenic festival sites. Everything is creatively arranged and blew my mind with colour beauty and passionate expression. I'll be back this year! No Internet or phone reception down on the site but you won't miss it!

Aum New Years Festival
Probably the best kept secret new years event in New Zealand. It's been getting better each year. They have various zones with different music styles like psytrance or house or live bands. Lots of activities like yoga, stilt, juggling and hula-hoop lessons for kids, great food and a huge camping area.
