our stay here recently was amazing! exceeded our expectations & we did not want to leave, we were given a room upgrade too because our stay was to celebrate my birthday & being engaged. so that was a lovely surprise, hotel staff were polite & helpful. Spa and sauna was great!

I have stayed at this property under several Management companies this is by far the very worst.I could not recommend this property to anyone of my business partners or friends.Several days prior to check in, my wife phoned to make a hairdressing appointment in her room for our event.After 5 phone calls to find “someone” who could assist as no one seemed to have any idea how to go about it.Finally she was given a phone number to call a random hairdressing business in Auckland. Every 5 star hotel we are familiar with have had in house hairdressers.We requested early check in as we were driving up to Auckland. Never got a call back.Drove to the entrance - no one greeted us.Had to unload our own bags and find our own bell hop trolley and load.More than 30 mins to check in.Had to take luggage to room ourselves.Had to find valet driver for our vehicle.This service should have been offered on arrival or at check inLobby was not busy at all.It seemed like all the staff might be on Prozac. “Slack arse” is the best description I can think of.Once in room at 2pm I called twice to ask for assistance to help with streaming of music. By 5.30pm still no one had come to help.The event was catered for in one of the ball rooms. The food was absolutely abysmal. My lamb was dry and tasteless, my wife ordered vegan and got 3 slithers of pumpkin on palenta with 3 hazel nuts, the starter was just as bad. No desert, no coffee or tea, not even an after dinner mint!!!For $295.00 a plate!!!Had better food at a pub.Took over 40 mins to check out, same lack of attention to detail and professionalism.My question to staff at reception on check in and check out.Where is the GM or Rooms Division Manager, surely on a busy weekend these two or at least one HOD would be at the front desk. Too my amazement they told me that they only work 8 to 5. Monday to Friday.I have over 36 years experience on the other side of the world managing “real” 5 star hotels. This hotel is scratching to make a 3.I have experienced more professionalism at a motel in Waipukurau!!New Zealand you have so much to offer, don’t waste it!!

Went in for Mother’s Day dinner (5:30pm). Very wide variety of food selection! They now have 2 station to cook fresh red meat & chicken & the 1 station to cook seafood! So many options to choose from! Fresh seafood & salad bar were great. My son that is 4 said the best part was the dessert area hahaha staff were always around to help & great customer service

Great experience! It is hard to accommodate kids well but they did do it well. Even the high tea we did with our kids (5 and 7) having a special kids high tea for them.The breakfast had everything you could think of and the coffee met our fussy standards. The staff were attentive and pleasant at every encounter.We stayed in the new tower and the room was perfect. The whole hotel was very clean and I was looking.The pool was a hit with the kids and extra facilities such as herbal steam room were great. We are definitely going to stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay here went for a treat to celebrate our babies first birthday. It was lovely staff were friendly and the hotel is clean and luxurious. Comfortable stay.

Hotel was nice enough, but service sucked. On night one it was taking 20+ minutes for our cocktails to arrive. They then completely forgot an order we made and tried to charge us for an order that wasn't ours. On night two, the bar wouldn't serve us cocktails because if they made them for us then everyone would want them". Pretty poor outlook at an awards dinner when everyone is celebrating. My dine-in breakfast was very late on the first morning and despite me putting the "make my room up" card out the night before

Fantastic and friendly, professional and well presented staffs. Location is great to walk around grabbing nice food and entertainments. Concierges are nice people and well trained to be looking after guests car. This is one of the places I am keen to pay tips and highly acknowledge the services and experiences.

Our stay here was average.The highlight of our stay was the comfort of the bed and the pool/spa/sauna.Another was the activities" like candy floss
