Staff helpful and very pleasant.

Unfortunately had a bad experience here, owner refused me service for an illness/disability that leaves me unable to wear a mask. I provided documentation which he refused and told me flat out he doesn't care and no mask no entry. I informed him he is literally breaking the law under the human rights act in which he seemed to think he was within his rights because it's private property. He needs to do some homework, I intend to make a formal complaint to the human rights commission just so they can remind him of his rights. On top of that he has lost some business of a locally established painter that referred me to them.

Unfortunately we had a terrible experience and wouldn’t recommend. Initial consultation was great and were really excited about our new carpets but it was the worse experience we have ever had with a tradie (which included swearing and threating and leaving site without doing the job). Worst part is the owner was fully aware of this tradie’s behaviour but he remained unapologetic and excusing the way he behaved.We ended up getting the carpets installed by another tradie and we weren’t happy with the final result so asked them to come and check. Initially they agreed and then changed their mind, didn’t come and just asked for final payment. We paid in full even though the experience was awful and we are not happy with the result.

Good prompt service and ample parking in Owens place.

Sadly, I cannot do a zero stars review.This business discriminates against those with a medical condition. Do not shop here. You will be met with rude, unhelpful and discriminatory behaviour.

I have recently discovered Guthrie Bowron Mount Maunganui. The help, advise and service I received was excellent! Brilliant people to deal with who have gone out of their way to understand what my paint and wallpaper requirements are and advise me on the best plan to achieve the finish and look I am after. It is so much appreciated as it alerted me to pitfalls I would not have otherwise thought about. I rarely write reviews but am compelled to pass on my experience to others who are looking for a business who take the time to understand the specifics of their client's job and have the expertise to give invaluable advice. Good range of curtain fabrics. Just the right approach, letting us browse but checking to see if we needed help. Update: different story when it came to installing our curtains.
