The Old Confectionery

My family had a fantastic stay at the Old Confectionary.It was very tastefully and thoughtfully put together, made the perfect home base.As an aside, Oamaru itself far surpassed our expectations and is a lovely little town to spend a few days in!

The first time we have seen this beautifully restored historical building it was under construction and we could hardly imagine its finished picture. Now, completed with its elegant and fine interior design, its beautiful views out to the sea and the old town of Oamaru, this place truly is unique. Opening the windows you don’t only hear, but you can also smell the see.With its great location it enables you to explore this lovely little town easily.We also love the attention to detail in the interior throughout the entire building and the little treats, local crackers, cheese and the gorgeous fresh flowers. It’s very clean and so comfortable.You don’t only see, but you can feel all the love put inside and around these historical walls. We’d like to rate this as a comfortable, welcoming and luxurious accommodation.

We stayed in the upstairs apartment and it exceeded our expectations. Beautifully restored and decorated it is a pleasure to spend time here. I would recommend staying more than 1 night. Very comfortable and great bathrooms. Definitely the place to stay when exploring Oamaru.

We had a girls weekend away at The Old Confectionery. A stunning building with a very high level of renovation. We were impressed by the luxurious and beautifully decorated rooms and interior . The kitchen was fully equipped and the beds were super comfortable. This made our stay a great experience. I can highly recommend this place and we will be back soon.

I stayed at The Old Confectionery with a group of girlfriends. What an amazing experience. The location is fantastic, so central to the waterfront, shops and eateries. The apartments are beyond anything I could have imagined, from the most gorgeous interiors, bathrooms and well thought out design, these apartments are comfortable, welcoming and opulent. We went in the middle of winter and the accommodation was warm, the beds were so lovely to sleep in and contained everything we needed. I can’t wait to go back!! If I could give more than five stars I would.

We have stayed here a couple of times now and love it! This wonderful old building has been beautifully restored and is in a great location close to cafes, shops and a very short walk to the historical precinct. Would highly recommend as your place to stay on your next trip to Oamaru.

Amazing renovation of this awesome old beauty. Comfy beds, Brillant ensuites in each room. Great location for where we needed. Warm, great kitchen and facilities.

Absolutely amazing accommodation in historic Oamaru. Walking distance to everything. We had both apartments and either were fantastic. Well appointed, lean and good value for 5 star accomadation. Great communications and clear instructions.Go to Cucina while you are there and order the Black garlic Rigatoni. To die for.
