Import Your Car

I have recently got a Lexus RX450h imported by Importyourcar. I could not believe that 10year old car could be in such a condition . It looked like new (auction rating 4.5). After couple of weeks of submitting practice bids I got a fair idea what price I could expect to pay. There is a great number of cars and you can pick up one with color and specs you like. I chose strategy to also bid less on cars which did not tick all the boxes for me, and got lucky and won a car for a great price. It arrived in approx 2 months required some minor work on lights and suspension before compliance (changing HID bulbs from foglights)Compliance centre in Auckland is quite busy so it might speed up the whole process to have a car transferred to your region.I got it serviced and checked and its in a great condition. Overall I am very pleased with importyourcar experience and will use again for sure

I bought two cars from 'Import your car'. The first car (Subaru Exiga) runs well and only had rust from bottom without being referred on the auction list even the car has grade 4.5. I just come back recently and brought another Subaru B4 2018 model, the car looks gorgeous and runs well. The important thing is tnat the second car doesn't have any rust... my wife is really love the second car. Thanks Chris, Nick and Lynn.

I choose to import with Nick and the team because I wasn’t seeing enough choice for the type of car I was after in Wellington. The thing with importing directly is there is access to a much larger market meaning you really can get what you want.Ricky and Chris help you with the auction process, providing both translation services and auction guidance. They are a dynamic duo and safe hands.As the buyer you get to see all the listings and choose what you want to go in for. There's no pressure to bid on something that’s not exactly what you want. That said I recommend playing the long game so you get the best deal possible - If you miss out on one auction there’s always another soon after.The process is reasonably long (several weeks to a couple of months) so if you’re in a rush you’re better off buying locally. But if you have time on your side it’s a no brainer.A nice bonus is that they have a great calculator to estimate the costs upfront - which they we really transparent about. My purchase was only $150 over the estimate which I was happy with.Finally, they take care of all the logistics so all you have to do are the fun parts which are the auction process and picking up your car. (If you haven’t registered a car for the first time before it’s super straight forward).

I contracted Import Your Car (IYC) to bring a newer model Nissan Serena E-Power over from Japan owing to the lack of hybrid 7-seaters available in N.Z. I dealt mainly with Julian but also with Chris. They were helpful and quick on the emails and did a great job of coaching me through the bidding process and securing a really high spec, low k's vehicle for a sharp price.They knew which parts of Japan to avoid buying from, which auction houses were the best to deal with and did not let me bid on cars they thought might be substandard. They were patient and knowledgeable and we won a really good vehicle in the end.The car arrived within a few months and was in the condition advertised (auction grade 4.5b) and we are really happy with it. It's pretty nerve-wracking transferring a large sum of money to someone you've never met then waiting that long for a result but it was worth it.I would have given a 5 star review but I felt their communication was pretty lacking after the auction was won. I had to chase up an ETA despite being told I would be contacted within a set timeframe, which never happened.When the car arrived in N.Z. it sat at compliance for two weeks longer than necessary because my details were not passed on to the compliance center so they did not know who to call when it was ready, despite me being told by IYC to wait for compliance to contact me. I had to ring compliance and chase this up.Upon pick up the car had to be jump-started and had an engine check light lit (this was not on the auction sheet). It turned out to only need a minor starter battery replacement to rectify the issue but I never even received a reply when I emailed to tell IYC this, let alone any offer to help fix the problem.All in all the IYC service operates as advertised. If you're looking to import a car I would recommend using these guys as they clearly know their stuff when it comes to the bidding and importing process, they just need to work on their post-auction communication with both the purchaser and the compliance center.

Chris and Nick at import your car did a great job. Car is in really great shape. It's a time taking process but the final result is awesome. They went all the way to help me out with my purchase. Because of a glitch and on going maintenance on Japanese auction sites the car price went high but they didn't charge me the extra money and don't have to bear the cost. Thanks appreciated. Chris, Nick and the team at Import Your Car do a great job. Like others have said, it's scary transferring them a bunch of money for a car that you've never seen, but the whole process was seamless. I had a small problem with the finishing once it got here, but Nick offered a solution that I was happy with. I love the car, and saved thousands by going direct rather than through a dealer. Highly recommend!

I was going to rate as 3 Star but the final outcome was very good. It is a challenge to most people to send large sums to some entity they know nothing about, even research online doesn't make the decision easier. Insurance for the transaction was never mentioned.ie needed or not. Online office communication could be improved with logical explanations for decisions made with less time lag. Notification issues relating to delivery time and place with with the right phone numbers and contact details need to be improved. I would use this company again as the are genuinely interested in improving their outcomes and customer experiences and vehicle they imported for me was all said it would be...Charlie

I highly recommend the services of IMPORT YOUR CAR. The services were as described and I ended up buying exactly what I wanted. The benefits of importing direct for me were cost savings, better quality and a newer car. The cars offered locally had higher mileage and were 1-2 years older.However it took me a few months to win the car I wanted. I am planning to buy another car through IMPORT YOUR CAR shortly.
