Jewel Centre Wellington

I wanted to support a small local jeweller so I took some things to get fixed at the Jewel Centre. My mistake. My waterproof watch is no longer waterproof. I also had a bracelet in to be fixed as the jump rings needed to be soldered. Firstly they seemed to have lost the bracelet and then I had to chase them up about whether it was finished. When I went in to pick it up after they had it for weeks it turned out the jeweller had just squeezed the jump rings shut; something that a monkey with a pair of pliers could do. He then got nasty when I expressed disappointment that he hadn’t soldered it and claimed that he didn’t know that I had wanted that despite the fact that is what I had asked for. Note; he had my phone number and could have confirmed what I had requested. Do yourself a favour and take your business somewhere else.

I have visited this shop since it opened many years ago. Great friendly service and all repairs etc completed quickly and at a very fair price. Always a pleasure to see the beautiful objects displayed so well. James is also very good at giving a quick evaluation of old pieces of Jewellery with sentimental value. I would not bother going anywhere else for a jewellery purchase.

Louisa and Jamie were fantastic. They both helped me remake my wedding rings when I lost them.My late husband always visited them for birthday, Christmas and mothers day presents as their goodies are a little bit different from the mass produced jewellery. Really special people, service and jewellery

Luiza and Jamie are really personable in all my dealings with them. It's more than just a transaction of fixings my jewelry pieces. Price wise unbeatable. Couldn't believe when they quoted me the prices for fixing my bracelets necklace and batteries exchange for my watches. Compare to previous store I took my pieces to. I just go to these guys now.

I recommend them to all my family and friends and still frequent the store regularly despite being based in Sydney now!Both Jamie and Luiza are honest, fair and kind in all their dealings. I went here to get a wedding band made to match my vintage engagement ring. Luiza and James are both very warm and welcoming and have some great stories to share. They were able to almost instantly recognise which vintage NZ jeweler my ring was from and whipped out the old catalogue to show me. The wedding band they had made fits perfectly alongside the engagement ring, as if they were designed together. My partner and I are now married and the ring is a pleasure to wear every day! I would highly recommend Jewel Centre for custom made pieces at a great price.

Bought a beautiful string of pearls and had an engage ring custom made here both for a great price. The quality of products, level of service and communication were all excellent. I had a wonderful experience with these guys and highly recommend them!!
