Albert Town Campground

Very good campgroud by the river.You can pay by cah/card. Huge place.

A very nice hidden camp ground near the river, far from the road. At the main road there's a sign to the main camp, you can turn to this one is exactly across that road, then continue less than 1 km along the Rodeo. There's much more space and it's a bit cheaper (7$ / night, compared to $10). On the other hand there are only two dry toilets, compared to three WC and a sink with water tap. We've been camping here almost every night for around two weeks and it's one of the best camps we found so far. During heavier winds be careful about the big pine trees, we saw big branch falling on a tent (nobody got hurt fortunately). It's a favorite habitat also for a lot of rabbits.

The $7 side by the Clutha river is fine for the price but the other more expensive side, I don’t understand the price. I’ve stayed here MANY times due to it’s convenience but the flush toilets are literally always broken which renders them worse than a long drop like the have on the $7 side. Currently two of the 4 flush toilets don’t work. And no soap in the soap dispenser. Great amount of space to spread out but horrible facilities. Not worth the price. Just stay on the cheap side by the river!

Nice place close to the river and close to Wanaka perfect for camping, but nothing for recycling.

cheapest option close to Wanaka, so don't expect much. Although you can often meet cool people here.

Only credit card transactions but nice place

Easy, quick access to Wanaka, and prettier than we expected given the location just off the road. Bathrooms were clustered in one area so we did have to walk a ways to get to one, but wasn’t odious.
