We changed to Dickens Inn due to the place 2 doors away serving us cold and over cooked food. This was our second time here as the first was pretty awesome. This time however, the cook got my order wrong and both our meals were cold. My husband will eat any meal as long as its warm, these were that cold. The service was pretty quick, I was asked where we wanted to sit and said out of the draft please, we were seated in the direct path of an open door.

Great service. Had the Artful Dodger burger. Sorry but have had better at a fish and chip shop. It was mainly meat pattie. No sauce. Lettuce I couldn't bite thru. Maybe less meat and more sauce, beetroot and where was the onion?

Had the Crispy Salmon for dinner and I have to say it was cooked perfectly. The skin was beautifully crisp, absolutely divine.The sticky date pudding was a large serving, I struggled to finish the dessert but I would thoroughly recommend this place as the service is sweet

We ate at the restaurant towards the rear of the Inn. The menu is European/English and quite wide-ranging - beef, chicken, pork, venison and so on. Service was fast and friendly. I had the signature dish (beef) and madame had the pork. Both were big meals, and we shouldn't have ordered the side of steamed veg. Dessert was good. With two glasses of wine the meals totalled just over $110.

Yummy! A little overpriced for certain meals.. we got this platter which was supposed to be able to feed 4-6 people.. very misleading as it’s very small and wouldn’t be able to feed more than 2 people unless you have a very small appetite hence the 3/5 stars. Otherwise nice atmosphere and staff are friendly.

We rang after a funeral on Friday around 5pm to see if they could find room for 18 people, and they happily obliged and reserved the upstairs room for us, they said we would need to come downstairs for our drinks, but in the end they were able to serve us the whole evening. The breads, mussels and salmon were all really good, and I heard no complaints from anyone else. Having a whole room with no music on so we could hear ourselves talk was excellent. I know we were lucky to be fit in anywhere on a Friday with an hour's notice, but I really appreciate the teamwork these guys showed in making it happen smoothly.

I just want to say first, while I've rated it a 3, my family and I did enjoy our time here and I'd like to come back for dinner or lunch.I had the eggs benedict with bacon. I wouldn't say it's a generous portion for the price, and unfortunately one of the poached eggs was cooked hard.My son did enjoy his hashbrowns and chips, and thanks to the kitchen and staff for letting us order something that was probably on the lunch menu.We sat inside as that's where my son wanted to sit. You could tell the place had character and would come alive in the evening, but for breakfast its a bit dark and I'd recommend sitting outside if the weather allows.

Excellent little spot for brunch! The wait staff are super friendly. Good portion size for the amount you pay! Highly recommend!!
