Best burger we’ve had in years!!We popped in looking for a quick road trip feed, despite being busy, they kindly got our food out 30 minutes early.Burgers far exceeded our expectations! Quality ingredients, real chicken, fresh tomato lettuce etc.Huge burgers, absolutely stacked.Delicious!! So good! Can’t recommend enough!

First time I've tried The Local tonight. Staff were friendly. The fish was the best I've ever had at any fish n chip shop!! The batter was real good, no grease, perfectly cooked. Great amount of chips too.

Edit as of 18/01/23 - Since ownership change, food quality has gone out the window. No cranberry sauce in my CCC Burger. 1 piece of camenbert, chicken was feral, salad ( salad as in a piece of lettuce) was old. Partners Satay Wrap had little Satay, but with sweet chilli and mayonnaise instead. Chicken was just batter, yet still same price. Seems new owners are out of there element, do not recommendOriginal owners review:Best Burgers, salad is fresh, buns are incredible, chips are always cooked perfectly and in fresh oil. Friendly staff, just all round bloody good food. Have been going there atleast once a week for months!

Since new ownership we have tried it twice. First time, burgers were a shadow of our expectations from the previous business. Thought we should give it a second chance, it used to be one of the best around.Next time, the fish came partially raw and smelled awful. Baked it at home, but still couldn't eat due to the smell. Chips were good, we made our own chicken to go with it.

Been regularly since the change of ownership and the local has became the best fish n chips we've had in NZ, love the batter & the fish is cooked perfectly also the satay chicken burger is the best burger we've had in Nelson! Great value and fair pricing
