Dealt with two lawyers here - one for house sale, one for relationship property. The first was great - easy and efficient. The other was the opposite. It took 8 weeks and constant asking for them to get around to updating the pretty basic agreement we'd done one year before. It was a very simple job as my partner and lawyer agreed to the change in email - but my lawyer at Harmans was too busy to respond to emails, let alone update my agreement. A really terrible experience.

I called to engage their services on the 10th of March 2023. I explained my situation in detail and it's urgency and was told I could expect a call back the next day or after the weekend. I'm still waiting for a call back 4 months later. Safe to say that I will not be calling them again.

I personally had a bad experience with Harmans with a will-my father's estate. Westpac shares were sold via Harmans at a greatly reduced rate when they had been stable for a long time.This was a loss of huge money to the estate. The shares were sold by a 'friend' of the solicitor at Harmans handling the estate.It actually verged on CBT.In the washup Harmans deducted exorbitant fees for themselves and refused to provide a breakdown.they refused to provide stockbroker receipts and accounting schedules.My recommendation would be to avoid them like the plague.
