Te Araroa Trail
A “must do” hiking trail! We hiked the portion of the trail adjacent to the Cape Reinga lighthouse.The trail is fairly easy to do and there are sweeping panoramic views of the ocean, beaches and cliffs from the trail.You can hike all the way down to the beach, if you like, but the hike back up is a little strenuous.Take the time to enjoy the scenery from this trail when you are visiting Cape Reinga or wandering around the northern part of the North Island.

Te Araroa Trail
Recommend doing more than the lighthouse. Even if you walk just a small part of the track you will get to see some great coastal landscape. The only criticism I would have is that whoever is responsible for this area really needs to get on top of the gorse or it will take over the track and land.

A long distance tramp (hike) from Cape Reinga to Bluff. Some parts are very demanding so a good level of fitness is required. People on the trail experience some of the most beautiful scenery New Zealand has to offer.

This was a great hike with amazing views! Certainly makes getting to the northernmost point of New Zealand more worth the trek. If you have a fear or heights (like I do) the path from Tapotupotu Camping Area can bit a little daunting. There is a little private beach which had crystal clear warm water to have a dip in to make it worth it even more

Amazing trail for everyone that loves hiking! There is alot of walking on asphalt, but they are still imporving the track and I think after some years it will be perfect.
