Was impersonated online; Netsafe helped a great deal! Thank you!

They really offer no help or protection. I would recommend people don't even bother reporting anything to them, they take no action and you will only end up frustrated.

As a teacher involved with developing digital citizenship in my school I have to say that Netsafe have been a fantastic organisation to work with. They are responsive, forward-thinking and genuinely care about NZers online safety. Judging by the reviews here, I think there is a genuine misunderstanding of how much Netsafe can realistically do. They are not law-enforcement. Many of the cyber-bullying issues mentioned are a society wide issue that can't fall on the shoulders of Netsafe. If you want advice and support then definitely get in touch with them as in my experience they respond quickly with good advice. If you are the victim of serious cyber-bullying or fraud then contact the police.

The man was friendly but the female Wendy was rude; got a text from her saying she's sick and tired" of calling me so I have to call her. I only missed ONE call from it but she acts like I missed TEN calls. Very unprofessional and impolite. I won't bother calling that."

Netsafe came to my school very good i learned more from it in less then an hour then i do from a entire week of school.. very chit and easy to understand them... hope they can teach many others to come and can get more funding

I just called netsafe with a facebook issue, someone had signed in & locked me out of my account, changed the password. The lady on the phone was very helpful, she offered to stay on the line while I got it all sorted out.

Thank you Netsafe! After having to read unkind, untrue things online, we were feeling bullied and harrassed and it felt like there was nobody there for us. Thank you for listening and thank you for doing what you could to help. You need to be given more powers as these problems are so widespread now and are hurting so many people. Thank you for doing what you could. We so appreciate it!

Beware!!! They say they can help or offer assistance. But like the scammers they are not ready to take your call and you just go through a bunch of options before being fobbed off. Scammers are people who say or promise things but don't deliver.

The presentation at my sons school was much needed and well over due - I wish everyone parent at every school could have Paula come talk about being safe online.
