Te Patunga marae is our ('we' being Matangirau) whanaunga of Pupuke - Ngāti Uru and Te Aeto hapu - Ngāti Kahu ki Whangaroa. A marae of great history - just like all of them lol. Sadly was there to farewell Elaine Rakena as she was taken home to Taumarunui to be laid to rest with her whanau. Moe mai, moe mai, moe e te whaea.
