Motutapu Outdoor Education Camp

Awesome place to spend Matariki weekend. Had many adventures and enjoyed many activities. Would love to go back. Cottage warm and well equipped plenty of firewood. Highly recommend for families, friends or just your own personal retreat. Super helpful staff.

Best camp ever! We come to MOEC every two years with our Year 7 and 8 students and absolutely love it!The activities are fun and challenging, the facilities are clean and provide us with everything we need and the island itself provides such a rich and unique experience for our students.But the best part of MOEC is the staff. The instructors are friendly, engaging and keep safety at the forefront. I can not speak highly enough of Kim and Duncan who are always so lovely, supportive and accommodating. They always make sure we have the best experience possible regardless of what the weather is doing!!!Highly recommend this camp!

I will visit again, it’s a beautiful island with lots of beautiful birds, it’s well maintained. We stayed in the cottage which was very clean and had a lovely view. We had a warm welcome from Kim and Duncan. They both were very friendly, lovely people and made sure to check up on us multiple times to ensure we are enjoying our stay. The educational activities were great for both adults and our kids, the instructors (JR and Meryam) were awesome too. Fully recommend it.

Kim and her team were phenomenal with our school camp cohort. They treated the kids like their own and ensured the safety and enjoyment of everyone. Facilities were amazing! Would definitely go back and encourage everyone to visit!

This has been such an experience most schools should always do as part of their curriculum. Our children throughly enjoyed this beautiful place while learning life skills that would carry through to their children when they experience this wonderful place for years to come. From boat-building, kayaking, high-ropes to snorkeling, rock climbing and conservation. As a returnee and having my son experience this wonderful place is a memory cherish and stories passed down for many years to come.The facilities were clean and Kim and her team were so welcoming and supportive to all the students, parents and teachers. @Kim, your amazing team made the magic that our children were able to relish and enjoy experience, conservation and history. Thank you so much for the memories. One thing I won’t miss are the wattle’s! Hope we took enough out from this beautiful place.

Another fantastic school camp on Motutapu Island! I can't speak highly enough of Duncan and Kim (Management team) who couldn't be more accomodating and helpful. I love the sustainability values that they uphold at this prestigious location and all they do to protect it. All the instructors worked so hard to make sure our group was safe through all the activities and got maximum value and had fun! Love MOEC and can't wait for our next camp!

My son went on the Somerville year 7 camp, and I was fortunate enough to be invited as a parent helper. The camp was extraordinary, and the staff and instructors were amazing, so well organised. This is an opportunity no one should miss out on. The is not just super educational but also gives the children some very valuable experiences that will put them ahead of others their age.
