Had been working up the Lewis Pass and wasn't going to have enough fuel to get back to Christchurch. Didn't have a fuel card or an Eftpos card. They let me fill up and go back the next day to pay.

Has 24/7 chip and pin!I was astounded to find that the fuel station in Hanmer shuts at 6pm. Really early. I was desperate for fuel as I was setting off to Picton the next morning at stupid o’clock (4-5 hours away).Luckily this place is about 30 mins away and has 24/7 chip and pin. I could fuel up even though the station was closed.Why on Earth the station in Hanmer doesn’t have this feature is beyond me. I’m just glad I didn’t have to trek back to Amberley.
