Amazing! Makkala is such a talented artisit and has always been so kind and respectful, the studio is emaculate with high hygiene standards, I always leave feeling so fortunate and stunned at the work I receive.

Makkala created a piece for me to honour a dream I had when my bestie passed away. The finished piece is beyond anything I could have hoped for. She is truely an exceptionally talented artist and her work speaks for itself. But more than that, Makkala leads the industry in the way she takes care of her clients by ensuring they are as comfortable as possible and that it is a special experience. I felt so looked after - I commented to a friend that it was like going for a spa treatment (only with some pain!). Makkala is also very knowledgable about surgical cleanliness and bacterias and incorporates best-practice to keep her clients as safe as possible. She is revolutionising the industry not only with her exceptional work, but her exceptionally high quality service and health and safety protocols.I never knew getting a tattoo could be such a special experience, and I also walked away with one of the most beautiful pieces I have ever seen! Also, I know that every step has been taken to keep me as safe as possible from bacterias and blood-born pathogens.On top of all of that, she is a genuinely lovely and beautiful human being!

I have known Makkala for many years, and she has done all of my tattoo work, 4 pieces including a large on-going sleeve.She is without a doubt one of the most brilliantly talented artists, both painter and tattooist, within NZ, if not the entire world.My experiences with her have been exceptional, she is an incredibly kind and lovely person to be around and I have always wholeheartedly trusted her with my skin in creating the most stunning works of art. Her studio is gorgeous, immaculately clean and a very comforting environment to be in. Any nerves quickly dissipated!For anybody wanting a botanical/animal themed piece I would recommend Makkala without any hesitation. I feel truly grateful to wear her work on my body and can’t wait to visit her again.

I approached Makkala after another tattooist felt that the project sleeve that they had been developing on my arm had surpassed their skill set. From my first query, Makkala was fast, friendly and approachable. She took an interest in the design I wanted completed from both an artistic perspective, and an understanding of the symbolism of the individual pieces. Makkala was extremely professional and consulted often to ensure that she was designing something in line with my ideas and that her art would fit in with the pre-existing tattoo on my arm. The process of the tattoo was also outstandingly done. Makkala's studio is warm and inviting and her diligence in creating and maintaining a sterile and healthy tattoo studio was outstanding and undoubtedly contributed to the fast healing of my tattoo. Makkala was great to talk to throughout the three days of my tattoo and made the process so much easier to deal with. My finished tattoo is outstanding and I am amazed at how well Makkala was able to integrate the existing water-colour rose tattoo into her own art work. I cannot recommend Makkala Rose and Love Craft Atelier highly enough.
