Fish and chips are always phenomenal - deluxe seafood burger is a must try - but when we purchased one of each slice they were all stale and underwhelming. Hopefully just a one off and will definitely give the cabinet another shot. So good to have a local once again!

It was okay.It was not busy and yet took 45 mins for our meals. The table beside us had one person get his meal after everyone at his table had finished.They had run out of a lot of meal options, which for midday, when there is a supermarket 10 mins away or a 4 Square down the road seems disorganised.The meals were presented nicely, but the bacon was actually reconstituted ham and disappointing, particularly in a BLT.We’ve seen a lot of places come and go here, so it’s vital to make the most of the summer rush, because it will be the busiest time of the year and help sustain the quieter months.It’s a difficult location to make a go of it, so I wish you the best.

The Spiced Tart Beach Bistro
Food was pretty good for a beach cafe and the staff service was excellent. Keep in mind that this is not a Wellington or Auckland style cafe with tons of counter food so it's best to sit down and order something off the menu and wait. The cooked food was good as can be seen by my photos. Coffee was good too and my long black was creamy and not burnt.

Sorry, but up there with the worst fish and chips that I have ever had.I also ordered 6 mussels which looked like they had exploded during cooking, couldn't eat them. Straight in the bin.A real pity as this once was a thriving business serving great fresh edible food.

A+++ I just wanted a simple fresh meal and stumbled across The Spiced Tart tucked away just off Waitakere Beach. Simple chicken burger meal ordered. Absolutely perfect. Fair price. Completely fresh salad and burger bun, and a lovely chicken fillet to top it off. Thanks Spiced Tart. I will definitely be returning...

Delicious food at affordable prices, including great coffee. Lots of choices that included vegetarian options as well as options that met specific dietary requirements eg. gluten or dairy free. A large and spacious indoor and outdoor area. Very clean and well kept. Staff were welcoming and very accommodating.

Had takeaway for dinner. The fish was absolutely beautiful and the chips really good too. Really nice people. Highly recommend if you’re after takeaways in waitarere!!

This is actually no stars....We rung at mid day to see if they were open that evening. Told us they were open from 5 till 7pm. Asked re menu and said we were coming out. Drove out from Levin only to find them well and tuly shut with all chairs up on tables. Clearly hadn't been open at all. Waited till 6pm.....Complete waste of time. Won't be going back again.Locals told us they open really queer hours... Unacceptable.Don't waste your time.

First time ordering from here for us - deluxe beef and chicken burgers, with crispy chips and nuggets for the kids to takeaway. Super tasty, non-greasy food. We were very impressed! Lovely people too. We're already looking forward to next time :)
