Brydone Hotel Oamaru

Awesome time at jazz festival weekend with friends. Lovely stay at the Brydone. Beautiful old hotel with rooms that have been modernised. Highly recommend!

Located just in the middle of oamaru town centre within walking distance to victorian precinct penguins sanctuary and countdown very convenient for moving around if you stay in this hotel exteriors of the hotel looks old but surprisingly new inside the hotel room service was good and fast ample parking space behind the hotel free laundry service provided (exclude washing powder) if you are lucky enough you might be able to see some penguins at the car park area

We stayed 1 night this week.The room was spotless, the service fabulous and the hotel has a wonderful homely feel. Will definitely come again. Extremely reasonable alsogreat. Oh and the porridge is absolutely the best ever!!

As good as ever. Yes they have fewer well-trained staff these days but the staff are attentive even if service is a little slower than it may have been a few years back. The only off putting thing is the music can be a little loud sometimes. And you can't escape it.

Had dinner here last night for the first time and was really impressed. The staff were lovely and friendly and the food was fantastic - good portion sizes and cooked perfectly! Don't know why we hadn't come here for a meal earlier on.

What a lovely hotel with so much history. Passing through on a business trip and had an amazing stay. Staff are friendly, rooms were cozy and had all I would need. Bed was comfy and the pillows were perfect (I do enjoy a good pillow for a great night sleep)My stay came to an end with one of THE most delicious eggs Benny and bacon.Thank you for a great experience

Not the greatest experience. Met by a woman at the front counter who looked us up and down and acted like she had a major problem with us….snapped at me when checking in, as I mentioned our name sounds different than it’s spelt. Were not told there were lifts, and had to carry heavy airport baggage up the stairs. Yelled at us on the stairs asking if we wanted to open an account to charge things to our room, which we politely declined. Her response was “oh well, suit yourself then” in a rude condescending tone. We were really shocked. The next morning a cleaner let herself into our room at 9am when we weren’t even dressed or checked out yet. Couldn’t get out of the place fast enough. Shocking service.

Stayed the historical bBrydone hotel which was very ordinary. Would have loved to stay in the actual original part of the brydone rather than the part added in the 70s. Quite a history
