Torpedo7 Taupo

Hired a bike for $41 for 4 hours. Seat was faulty so had to adjust every couple of 100 m. No offer of refund.

I had a major issue with my bikes front chain ring after it was damage while traveling to Taupo. The folks at Torpedo7 helped me trouble shoot the issue and even called neighboring bike shops to inquire about a part that they didn’t have in stock at the time. The person helping me did everything he could to get the issue resolved (and it eventually was, thanks to his efforts). It was clearly a busy time with the race going on so I was incredibly thankful they spent so much time and effort in helping me resolve the issue. Highly recommend this bike shop!

We recently purchased e-bikes from this store, the guys were amazing! Jeremy and Tom really know everything there is to know about bikes.Their service was outstanding and they took the time to make sure we were getting exactly the bikes we needed. Super awesome staff, went in looking for some snowboard equipment not knowing anything about it, and they saved me a ton of time and research and were able to answer all of my questions without passing any judgment what so ever. Special shout out to Ryan.

Quality bikes for hire and helpful staff.We hired mountain bikes and rode to Huka Falls from the shop.

I initially gave these guys 5 stars, then 3 stars and now 1 star. It started when I took my bike in to get the brakes repaired and serviced. A short time later I had to take it back a second time for the same brake problem and I was later disappointed to read on my receipt the wheel bearings were a bit loose. Why would they not fix them or ring me to authorise repairs. Paid yet another visit after the repaired brakes leaked fluid everywhere and I had to buy new ones. Despite not having ridden the bike at all they refused to accept the leak was their fault. Unbelievable I was away on holiday when the brake pads fell off on the track after they had failed to secure them properly. Extremely disappointed with this crowd and will never go back. I voiced my concerns with the regional and general manager over 3 months ago but no one has ever responded. Same poor level of service it seems. My advise is to find a proper bike mechanic.

Great day on the bike hired from Torpedo7 Taupo! Outstanding service from Caspar. Loved our ride, took us from 9.30 until 17.00 to ride to the Huka Falls, Aratiatia Dam and back via the Wairakei spa for an hour.

We came in to torpedo 7 and was greeted by Josh, WOW such incredible service. This guy was so lovely and knew his stuff. We spent a while getting a great pair of shoes perfectly fitted by Josh. He was amazing and a real asset to T 7 thank you so much Josh, highly recommend this gentleman!

HiJust wanted to compliment the guy who served me yesterday (Friday afternoon) at your Taupo store in the bike shop who was wearing the blue checkered shirt and beanie.He was a super genuine, friendly and helpful guy who gave me the ins and outs of all the gear I could possibly ever need for my next Ultramarathon! It's not often these days you find someone who isn't super pushy trying to sell you something with an agenda or in a rush to serve the next person, I left the store with a wealth of knowledge on what were the best products to actually buy and am very grateful for that, will definitely come back.I hope his T42 run goes well this weekendPlease pass on my thanks
