The Puffin
When not much else is open on a weekday night, The Puffin is!!! Excellent spot for a good glass of wine or mixed drink. Super knowledgeable staff that are unpretentious and welcoming and overall stellar folk. So glad i found this place by accident and highly recommend for not only the drinks but the atmosphere and overall class of this spot. If i lived here i would be a regular.

Great venue for sampling some new flavours. Tried the A Thousand Gods Giara - great crisp nose, smooth on the palate and a refreshing citrus follow up.Do not venture here if you suffer from ornithophobia - stuffed birds aplenty!

I loved this place. Top quality fit out. Excellent Wine bar. Great service & wine selection. Very high attention toward quality in every detail. The self service water on tap is sparkling and a winning touch. A certain class & old world charm about this place. Smoking area is out front on footpath and alcohol cannot pass front door. Rear outside seating would be great for smoking but obviously the woke laws of Wellington make that not possible. Excellent security & intimate booths. Bathrooms are great. Excellent stuffed animals & most impressive being the actual Puffins. The pheasant was a nice touch also and reminded me of last time i shot one, basically like a tasty chicken. Thanks!

Went out for a girls dinner on Friday. 7 months pregnant so no drinking for me but the bartender on the night was so lovely and whipped up the best mocktail i've ever had! No idea what was in it, there were cherries, its was bubbly, not too sweet in a nice wine glass. Other mates had cocktails which were also yum but my mocktail, if she can remember what she put in it! add it to the menu was great!

This is a cool, eclectic wine bar inside of a hotel. They serve mostly beer and wine. The drinks are pretty cheap. It’s definitely a good date night spot. They serve a couple of small tapas like food ie bread.

Good service, welcoming, knowledgeable and friendly staffs. The place have quiet bar, bar and outside seating. Good for any occasion. Good list of options for drink.

The atmosphere is cool but the service was just ok, drinks list was unimpressive and expensive - tiny pint glasses at $14.

We stopped in for the advent calendar deal of 2 wines and a bowl of olives for $30. Nice decor, variety of seating options, nice atmosphere, knowledgeable staff, delectable olives and wines you wouldn’t necessarily find anywhere else. We enjoyed ourselves. Will be back try the cocktails.
