Used to love this dairy for their famous ice creams. They have now cut back on the size of scoop and put the price up. A bit of a rip-off now. Was also charged for PayWave. Businesses forget that people remember the little things and don't go back. We won't be.

Cute little place ,has most of what you need if you forget to buy anything on your way to waipu and they have a wide selection of ice cream bits and end that you will need if you spend a few days.

They asked me to not wear that type of mask in their store anymore as they only like the ones they are wearing which are once usable ones. So weird as surely a fabric one that you can wash and reuse is more environmentally friendly and hygienic. Felt very judged and disappointed.

Stunning trip to Waipu Cove, with daughter, Ausralian SIL and little grandson, freshly out of MIQ from Aus. Capped off with an ice cream at the store. I remember this store serving scooped ice cream from my teenage years (63 now!). Quintessential NZ beach store with everything from kids sand buckets to diswash liquid.

Sadly the latest owners have become very paranoid in the new COVID environment. Great that they are being careful, but to turn me away based on the fact that my mask was not the same as theirs (my mask was perfectly adequate), is taking this to a new level of paranoia.I informed them I would be taking my business elsewhere.
