Had a great experience at Pukenui lodge even though we were snowed in the kids had a ball and the facilities were great. Awesome value for money and the owner Chris was extremely helpful. Even when our car got stuck Chris took time out of his busy schedule to help tow us out big thanks.

My family and I stayed at the Pukenui Lodge for two nights while we went to the Mt Ruapehu Ski Fields and we had the most awesomest time here. The manager was so amazing and helpful as she gave as great tips on how to get to the Mountain and the best time to leave. The Lodge was always warm as the fireplace was going all day and the atmosphere was so welcoming :) Honestly I reccomend anyone who is thinking about somewhere to stay when in the area this is the one :)

Excellent stays in the mountain for our family. Clean and has everything you need: comfy beds, kitchen with utensils, lounge, and heated laundry room that has space to dry your damp clothes/gears after playing with snow. My kids love the table tennis game. Well priced for family of 5 or more with shower and TV (beddings and towels inclusive). Stay there for 2 nights as we move around the mountain but would definitely stay longer next time in National Park. Suggestion: would be nice to have more activity area/facility for the kids, may be a small corner in the lounge for smaller kids (playing dolls ect) or to kick a ball area on the grass ;-)

We arrived late in the afternoon on a Friday to stay the weekend. The host was so friendly and polite. He served and briefed us very well plus the warmth of the fireplace in the lounge makes us feel at home. To be frank, the building is quite old but very clean and tidy. We came in as a family of 15 members very happy and satisfied by the standard of the venue and it's pricing. Will surely come back to Pukenui Lodge. A+++ recommendations.

Great helpful owners. We stayed in a double that was down the corridor from the dorms but to be honest there wasn't any noise that you'd usually get in popular hostels.Would definitely stay again.Very convienent for the slopes.

Lovely place to stay..Me and husband stay for 3 nights, and was so nice. Has a comfortable bed, and clean private bathroom. This lodge also has a huge common room.Tidy share kitchen with lots of cooking equipments and cutlery.Chris really friendly and helpful, and about the price for the room with private bathroom is definitely affordable. The lodge is close to most popular attraction such as tongariro alpine crossing, mt Ruapehu, also close to the thermal pool at tokaanu. Will be back to stay here again if we go for holiday around this area.Really recommended!!

The host was very friendly and helpful. We arrived and our room was clean, warm and tidy. Every night the fire was lit, it was perfect, we would get back from the ski fields then sit in the lounge infront of the fire. Plenty of space in the shared areas, all the comforts of home.We will definitely come back again.

I lost the keys to our vehicle and we stayed at the lodge until a replacement arrived. Very friendly staff. Nice, clean facilities. Very child friendly. The large lounge area is great to unwind and talk to the other guests. It's a close walk to Shapps bar and restaurant.
