In front of Caltex and Rainbow confectionary. Staff was ok. Have got a cafe and usual departments of a supermarket. Plenty of onsite parking available. BNZ ATM also is inside.

Absolutely terrible experience.Working in the retail sector here in Oamaru, I understand how customers should be treated.Well today at around 11am I went in with my gift card & got my few items at the self service, The young blonde haired girl was practically leaning over my shoulder (exaggerating, but that's what it felt like) she was watching me intensely like I was about to steal my sour cream, my taco pack??? This is not the first time at the self service there that I've been made to feel uncomfortable, most of the checkout watcher's" seem for some reason to glare & closely watch me at the self service. A lovely supermarket, well stocked with friendly, helpful staff

Medium sized but well stocked store. Handily located on SH1 with plenty of parking.

I have noticed that the guys on self serve can make you feel very uncomfortable with how close they get / how intensely they watch you. This isn't strictly my own experience ... I've seen them being close enough to customers that, were they my checkout staff back in the day, I'd have asked them to please give them space.Having more than one staff waiting for you at 4-5 machines is intimidating.Such is life. Otherwise bog standard new world. Can't give 5 stars in this day and age to a supermarketI wish that the loaves etc weren't all in plastic too.
