My first time camping EVER! What a cool place to camp. I loved the walking tracks, the excitement of searching for kiwi at night, walking around the rocks to pink beach, the incredible views of tiri tiri and the noisys! The quick access to a beach swim and the phosphorescents sparkle at night.

Te Haruhi Bay Campground
This is a great Auckland camp ground. Flushing toilets, really close to the beach, lots of walks around the park, plenty of birds in the sanctuary (loved all the quails!). Close to local shops too.The beach is great for kids. No major currents to worry about. Do be warned that the incoming tide can catch you out if you're on the sand bar. Fine for adults to wade or swim back, but can get deep for young children.

Amazing spot to camp so close to Auckland City! Bathrooms are new and clean. I was surprised about the recycling and rubbish facilities. Awesome walks with good views of the surrounding areas. Great clam beach and shallow, too. Lots of things to do!

We went camping at Te Haruhi for the first time last week after living on the coast for over 15 years and it was our best experience ever camping. Great spacious areas to set up camp and for kids to run and play, amazing bird life all around the tent, farm animals, gorgeous beach and hiking trails with glorious views. Thank you

The campground was full, the sign said. I spoke to the host, Roy, and he said people hadn't turned up and there was plenty of space if I wanted to stay. No sooner had I replied, thank you, this woman came bustling to the door of their rig, Mrs Moanie Roy? and said I've just spoke to the council and they are going to close the campground because it's too wet."
