To start, table stil has wipes streak marks on it as was sticky. Had to wipe the table and was left with a wipe that was partially black from whatever was on the table. There was a random potato product left on a seat. Atmosphere is cold and no music of any kind. We weren't greeted by the either staff members that walked passed our table. Waitress that brought menus and cutlery, just left it on the table and walked off, not even saying hello or engaging in any way. Cutlery didn't look clean and had splotches of water marks on them. Had to request clean cutlery, but even the replacement cutlery didn't look clean. Requested boiling water to clean cutlery. Waitress uniform was a bit messy. Ordered Eggs Benedict with well done eggs and when I got it, the eggs were not well done at all and runny, which i do not eat as it makes me personally sick. The meals were well presented and will give them good points for presentation. But when you stipulate one requirement to the order and then get that wrong, doesn't say much about the service. Would I ever dine at a Denny's again, probably not.

Denny's Family Restaurant
We went there for dessert and chips and had a lovely time. It was quiet enough to have a good catch-up, yet it was quite busy as well. We were seated quickly. Our server was helpful. The restaurant is located at the bottom of Wairau Park and includes lots of parking, which is handy. When looking out the huge windows, we looked out onto a duck pond.

Over the years I have been here multiple times. Service can be very hit and miss, depending on how busy they are, or which server you get.Sometimes they are onto it, and you get good service but other times, like a recent visit where I ordered on arrival, the server came back 5 mins later to confirm my order, and then 15 minutes later to once again confirm what I had ordered, as they had not placed it, and said they lost my order.The food is basic, but that is what you expect, it is not a high end restaurant, and unfortunately, over the years, its prices have gotten closer to cafe and restaurant prices. The chairs and tables are showing their age, this is not what it was back in the 90's, but you can still get a meal that will fill a hole.I do still like the Skillet meals, and how the breakfast meals come with a bottomless filter coffee.

Went twice, first time weren't so impressed. Second time the food was better... depends what you pick. Burgers and blt were great. Decor is tired looking and toilets needed maintenance. But still a nice place for lunch

Saturday 4pm. Partner and I rocked up hungry as. Despite being sceptical from our last experience eating here about year ago. we decided to give it another chance.Customer service was excellent, warmly greeted and seated as soon as we arrived, by friendly female staff. didn't have to wait long for order to be taken.Food came out hot and almost correct. Staff apologized and bring out the missing egg from my premium burger. Didn't mind, glad they were transparent and communicated this with me.Curly fries were cooked to perfection, golden, crispy n crunchy. partner ordered the chicken Melt which was crunchy, tasty an delicious.Atmosphere was a little cold,. Could either turn ac off or up as it's already cold an was making customers cough n sneeze.We enjoyed our food and our dining experience. I would recommend this Denny's for anyone looking for a nice hot delicious burger or toastie,who knows we could potentially be back for another meal.

The service was not very good. The waitress didn't make any effort to welcome you. The food I ordered was pumpkin soup. The bowel looks big, but it was extremely shallow!!! It was about 150mls!! Don't recommend this place!!

For the price vs amount of food and being open at all hours, the restaurant is pretty standout. Only reason I give a 4 on food and service was my waiter couldn't answer/didn't understand my question about the size of the nuggets or burger I asked about. The manager and chef made up for it with politeness and a warm goodbye.
