Generous portions. Pancakes massive.Best blue cod, freshly battered so it's very light crisp & creamy. Had to have it two days running.Great pizza's.Burgers looked amazing & super filling we couldn't eat it all. Meals came quick every time. Can also do takeaways.Awesome menu for a wee pub. You'll leave full to brim.

Good sized meals. The fish burger was lovely. The steak was massive. Good selection of beers on tap however rather pricey-Emerson pilsner $15 handle. Almost choked.All in all a decent place for a meal. A little tired, bathroom was a bit dirty, but the food potions were generous which was welcome as so were the prices- bar the burgers, which are very good value.

Great stop after a long day at Monkey Island and Gemstone Beaches. The locals are friendly the food is great and location can't be beat. Highly recommend the blue cod or a pizza with a nice cold one.

Went on a Western Southland reminiscing tour on a significant birthday recently. Got the oysters at the Tavern, they were AWESOME, if you are in Southland, you MUST go here. Plenty of parking, nice atmosphere, and the food was great

Dirty, run down, badly serviced, backpacker-style accommodation. Illegal wiring and a lot of things not working. Food poor. Colic Bay was beautiful.

Great little pub - the food is excellent and very reasonably priced. The staff were very friendly and helpful. This is a nice place to stop in for a meal. :)

Probably wouldn’t have stopped here if it weren’t for the previous good reviews. We weren’t disappointed! Very generous portions, really tasty food and fast service. A great stop for lunch :)
