Riverdale Fiber Mill
Driving down to New Plymouth we were lucky enough to stop here. The family who lives there were really friendly and happily showed us around we got to get close with the Alpacas, their retired thoroughbred Tommy and their dogs. We were even taken to where they process the beautiful soft fleece and got to see the process from start to Finish. It was such a privilege to see the life’s work of one family. From the breeding of alpacas to the annual sheering and processing to making the clothes (they have a small shop with beautiful handmade alpaca clothing). Be sure to stop it’s a wonderful experience.
