came in last minute in the rain, the staff were very friendly and helpful and also gave me a discount on a room. Very cozy place, and the customer service is impeccable!

Absolutely fantastic classic country pub. Everything an old fashioned pub should be. Loved the service and pool table. Food was great, especially the ribs and wings. Made our day!

Worst fish burger I’ve ever had. Charged $30 for it too. Avoid if you don’t like bad food

I wouldn’t lightly but I have to leave a review and say I had the worst steak of my life here. Rib eye was served soft, wet, and unseasoned. Potatoes with it came lukewarm and not cooked through. Steak was not as seen in any of the photos on other reviews. The cod and chips was very good on the other hand and good beers at good prices. Staff also very nice. Have to leave 2 stars because truly the steak was terrible.

Nice old hotel in the backcountry of new Zealand. Small but quaint. Good food and drinks

Clean and characterful budget accommodation with excellent hospitality and customer service. Despite being short staffed, the hotel went above and beyond to cater to our needs, even kindly paying to post my Mum's nightdress when she accidentally left it behind. The hotel is in an excellent location and has a welcoming atmosphere and restaurant. My only criticism is that the rooms, while great value for money, are a bit on the small side with limited storage space (it would have been helpful if the wardrobes had been empty to store stuff). In sum, I highly recommend this place if you are looking for an affordable and enjoyable place to stay in Glenorchy. Just check the restaurant opening times as it wasn't always open (breakfast didn't open til late).

Fantastic venue. Great beers on tap, great staff, great beer garden, great food - the fish and chips was genuinely really good, not just saying that because they're the only option in town... And it was all fairly priced. No complaints! Can't comment on the hotel rooms.

Not good !Enjoyed a pale ale and half a glass of orange juice as it was full of ice .The food was below average.$40 dollars for over cooked pub platter was extremely disappointing.Could have done better getting it from the supermarket and doing it myself and I'm no cook !Bar staff require lessons on welcoming customers with a smile and showing personal interest in tourists who bring income into the area.Maybe they need a pay rise !Over all experience was a 1 star out of 5.

Without a doubt the worst food I’ve had in a long time. $28 for a tiny piece of dry unseasoned chicken smothered in cheese and no sauce on dry bread? No one in the kitchen is concerned it seems. A shame as most food in NZ is quality. Waitress was really nice and refunded which was the only positive

After a beautiful drive out to Glenorchy was looking forward to a cold beer and a bit of food. Being about the only option in town, it has taken good advantage of the situation. Although the sign out front says lunch from $10 I could find nothing at that price. . A burger and fries would be $28.50. Fish and chips was $28-35 depending on hoki or blue cod. Even a BLT was well over $20. Opted for a beer and some chips for $24.50 which included the smallest scoop of chips for $12.50. Stop for the beer but I would suggest heading to Mrs Woolly's for some reasonably priced food
