Bay City Gym

I have been a member at Bay City Gym for about 16 years... it's owned locally by a wonderful family and has an immense sense of community spirit. We get a diverse range of people attending.. different ages, cultures, shapes and sizes. Over the years I have developed many good friendships! Bay City Gym members and staff are friendly, supportive and very helpful. The gym itself is big with lots of equipment and you don't have to worry about overcrowding. Open 24 hours so I can attend after work, before work or weekends.

Bay City Gym is one of those gems that you just don’t expect to find. Well maintained equipment all in perfect working order, the gym is clean and orderly with equally clean bathrooms and change area. It’s clear that the owners take pride in this space. It has a strangely strong community vibe unexpected of this style of gym, friendly smiles and ‘hello’s’ All round. Appreciate the friendly conversation with Hamish, legend bloke. Locals need to check it out, well worth a visit.

Ive never enjoyed Gyms as hate feeling faint and sick lol but wanted to walk the Camino so signed up with Aaron Silk as my PT for 12 weeks to help get me there- gently!! Really amazed at what I can do after just 6 weeks. Aaron has been really encouraging and gone over and beyond to help me achieve my goal. He knows more about the Camino than me! I now have confidence I didnt have that I am going to be able to complete this 700km walk!

Love the gym! The staff are so nice and are happy to explain things at length! Sage was just brilliant! Starting from her communication to her hospitality! She also seems very knowledgeable and would love to work with her and to continue my membership here after the trial period!

Unprofessional from the get go.Requested the free foundation programme 3 times. Finally got one. There was nothing to it. No goals set, they offered me the new receptionist to train me. Was told to use a certain weight, that was clearly too heavy for a beginner. He left halfway through one of our sessions. Had to take time off work due to muscle damage.Called the owner explaining what happened and that I want to leave the gym due to these reasons. There was no follow up, no questions asked. Just told to ring the office and sort it out through the front desk.I was a member for a very short time. I didn't even get offered my $89 joining fee refunded, which they just made off me for nothing.Total waste of time and money.

I highly recommend Bay City Gym, it's locally owned by Chrissy and Hamish who are 100% committed to making the gym the friendliest, safest, cleanest and most enjoyable gym to to belong to. All the staff are so friendly and helpful, they make you feel welcome no matter what stage of your fitness journey you are on.
