The Lodge At Te Rawa
Penny and Nathan met us on arrival and immediately made us feel more than welcome, the place was amazing and would definitely recommend to anyone going to the sounds to stop in for a night or two or even pop into their restaurant for a lovely cooked meal! The food was amazing and they were both very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very tidy and clean and if there was anything we needed Penny and Nathan were very quick to help us. 10/10 totally recommend Te Rawa lodge. Had so much fun there and can’t wait to be back in the future !!

You can’t really say anything negative about Te Rawa apart from the weather which Nathan and Penelope have no control over! But for other things it’s perfect- the mussels are from heaven as are the chips. If you want to chill out this is the place and you can catch a fish off the wharf and they will cook it You can take your own food and wine too - we can’t wait to go back.

This little gem was a wee surprise to us. We have been past in our boat many times and didn't realize it was there. Amazing food and just an awesome view. Staff and dogs very friendly and welcoming. The owner was constantly making sure people had a place to moor up and assisted as well. We definitely will be going back and when we have friends or family with us, a great place to stop for a meal and a drink. You won't be disappointed. We didn't stay so didn't view the rooms but the people we met who were staying were very impressed so good start.

Nathan & Penny are amazing, nothing is a problem and the food is out of this world. These 2 catered for our sons 21st so easily over 3 nights and 4 days. They worked late and were up early. The bunch of 21 year olds staying had an amazing time.

Visited as part of the Pelorus mail boat trip. We were advised by their leaflet and website to bring food for a picnic and told we could obtain drinks from the Lodge after disembarking for lunch.Unwelcoming and surly staff, refusing to serve us a drink because he had to attend to food. The BBQ area was covered in broken glass next to a smouldering rusted barrel. It was filthy, so wouldn’t recommend eating anything cooked on it.The glass spilt over to the small lawn and seat, (one bench only), the access to the water was unstable. There was a dog roaming around begging for food and rooting into our bags.

Loved popping into the lodge for a spot of lunch and some dinner during our recent trip to the Sounds. Amazing venue, with stunning views - even saw some stingrays swimming round beneath us. Especially loved being able to take our freshly caught fish and have it cooked on the spot!

Penny and Nathan were just incredible. We had a week as a family with them which was so easy and chilled. It’s amazing watching the sea and landscape and how connecting that is to the world. The ebb and flow of boaties being cared for and the lovely way all engaged with the lodge, Nathan and Penny says it all.

Had a stop here on the mailboat tour for lunch! You can preorder so it’s ready when to get there! The location is very remote and only accessible by boat, they have a dock and you can hire private water taxi, or use the mailboat for drop off and pick up.The location is absolutely gorgeous!! Overlooking the sounds and hills all around! It would make for a quiet and peaceful get away! The restaurant also has some toys for children

Great spot. Had a few meals here when we stayed around the corner. Good food, excellent hospitality and they even have fuel on the wharf. Keep up the good work and thanks.
