Historic Ammunition Bunkers
Great historical spot. A lot of the bunkers are on private farm land so respect the locals, especially around lambing season. Quite well preserved despite no obvious maintenance and some bunkers used by the farmers. Don’t recommend going from Dry Creek entrance, other than Boulder hill the rest of the walk is long, steep and dull.

So many bunkers. Great air strip too. Difficult landing at night, but the flaming torches provided some ground reference. Prop wash, caused a few problems with the bags, as some passengers flew unaccompanied. Recommend to call early, as it's a busy wee strip.

Lots of bunkers that are well preserved. All of them are pretty similar but some are on private land and being used.

This was a really fun and educational walk with family. Along the way there are signs which share the history of the area and what some of the bunkers were used for. There's one that was a chicken coop when we were there with lots of baby chicks and ducklings! Super cute. We took our time wandering around and up and down the hills here, clocking up a lot of steps! It's mostly gravel pathways and it's a working farm. So be aware of farm vehicles and livestock. Some areas are suitable for all terrain style push-chairs and prams.
