Mt Paku Summit

Park at the Motuhoa Road playpark and walk up to the walkway entrance. The track is about 15 minutes but rises steeply up to the summit with some rock clambering at the end to reach the trig point. Definitely not a walk for mobility challenged walkers or small children.Partial views of Tairua, Pauanui, and the open ocean along the way.At the top, expansive views South across Pauanui beach and out to Mayor Island.You can also do a loop walk following Motuhoa Road around from the playpark, ignore the private property signs and use the track to link to Oceana Heights on the North side of Paku before linking again to Motuhoa Road and back up to the carpark.

5-star recommended！Only 15mins to get to the top of the mountain from the car park. The road is quite steep and bad to climb near the top. Be careful. The view is amazing!!!!!

A fantastic view to be had at the top. Well worth the climb. We walked from the Old Mill Cafe rather than drive, making use of the various walkway shortcuts" on the way up. The climb up the peak itself is picturesque but a little muddy after rain. The last 50 metres is very steep and will give those who suffer from vertigo a run for their money. The summit has stunning 300 degree views of Tairua

Overall quite an easy 40 minute return hike to the summit. It get a little rocky near the summit. The only downside is you have to park your car half way up at the carpark so a bit inaccessible for elderly. Well makes up for the great 360 view

Gorgeous view in coromandel peninsula, even better than the cathedral cove and hot water beach. Do not miss the views for such a light hike. If the weather is good you can see a bunch of islands.

Car park is on Paku Dr where big grass area and playground is.Walk across the grass upto 1st walkway post and follow it upto the next street above then turn left to the next post then continue to walk up the steps, once you reach the top take another left to next post and follow this track to summit, where you get nice views of Tairua and surrounding area.

Great views of Pauanui and the surrounding area. Unfortunately it was not the best weather but made for some epic photos with the rain over the ocean.

A beautiful 45min return relatively easy walk up to the summit where you'll have incredible view of the harbour. The water is so clear you can even see through it from the summit.

Bloody amazing! Amazing views of Tairua, Pauanui and the islands. It's a steep walk from the car park up steps and through the bush, with the last bit over rocks. But worth it. Information boards provided so you can learn about the geology and the human development of the area.
