Great spot for a short walk and stretch down the beautiful river. The historic Tauranga Bridge is the only surviving harp suspension bridge left in New Zealand.

Historic Tauranga Bridge
Amazing walk, great to learn a little about the harsh farming environments in the early 1900s, lovely 2.35hours and 6km and our 5year old walked the whole thing! Would highly recommend to anybody! Ps loved the river crossings. Also the clockwise direction was the best choice! Oh and the workers had just been through today so the high grass and BlackBerry bushes are no problem now.

This bridge is a little gem, hidden from up on the main road, it is well worth a stop and the 5 minutes to walk down to it. The river and bush views add to beauty of this old bridge.

Cool stop off the highway. There is. Nice walk around and the bridge is pretty impressive. Max 10 people on the bridge and it is a suspension bridge so bounces a bit when walking across which is cool.

Good spot for a stop and leg stretch. Nice bridge and tranquil river. Has been nicely restored and some information signage. Easy 5 min walk down to the river.

Historic Tauranga Bridge
We accomplished the Tauranga Loop Walk in 2 hours. Careful: you have to cross the river two times. So be prepared. Better you go clockwise, so the way back is more easy.The first part of the track you have to go through high grass, but you can make it.
