I got to the base of the My Hutt access road today to find that the chain hire booth was closed. Alpine Sports organises the booth so I gave them a call and asked why it was closed. When the Mt Hutt Snow Report says chains only need to be carried they don’t have the booth open. I had asked the lad on the phone if they were based in Methven; planning on turning around and head their way to rent some. He looked to see if they had any chains to fit my vehicle in store which they didn’t, so he drove out to me at the booth to find me some to rent. The effort of him driving out to me to get me some chains to carry up the mountain was absolutely amazing, I was gobsmacked at the customer service! Thank you so much! Staff in store on the chain return were also very friendly.

You've got to love it when your new ski boots fit perfectly first time with no pressure points or hot spots! Thanks for the amazing service guys and for spending so much time with me to mould them and get them right. Fantastic store and amazing team who really care.

Awesome customer service. We needed to pick up some chains on the way up to Mount Hutt (which we hadn't accounted for!). Jackie picked up the phone at 6:15am and put aside some chains for us. She even sent through a video explaining how to put them on! Thanks guys, really impressed.

These guys are super helpful. Purchased a pair of wakeboard boots after speaking on the phone - a great price, free delivery and they turned up shortly after purchasing. Thanks for the great service.

Alpine sports shop in methven was great to hire snow gear from. The people were extremely helpful and easy to deal with, I’d recommend them all day long.Unfortunately the chain hire shop at the base of the mountain was the opposite from the shop. 1 out of the 3 people working in there was semi helpful. The young girl should not be working behind the counter or anywhere in customer services as she was rude and some what strange to deal with. When I asked for a bit of help with the chains as I’ve never put them on before the answer was, no we don’t help but u can watch a video. So after 40 mins of struggling with these chains a couple next to us came over to help us out. After our day of skiing we returned the chains and still the young girl was strange and rude so I’m guessing it must be her personality. I won’t be hiring anything from these guys again because of her.

Highly recommend this shop for ski rental and accessories. The owner is very skilled and bring very good advise in the equipment to rent. He makes you feel very safe with his equipment and bring such a good vibe and mood in his shop that you spend a great time in the shop trying great quality equipment. I would definitely come back next time I go to Mount Hutt.
