I’d rather give it a minus, there is no service at all. They have commercial contract for 2 years and residential for 1 year contract, I sold my shop and just transfer from my account to new owners account they charge me 1200 dollar for termination fee, but I told them I’m not canceling the account will continue use your company just transfer the paying account from my company to new owner . But they insist this is cancellation not transfer, they charge me electricity and gas both 1200 . That is steal money, later I shift to Nova which offers great service . Worst and most expensive energy company , will never use it anymore !

Terrible service so we are not going to use. We tried to connect gas in P/nth and the gas connection team bounced us to vector who don't supply gas outside Auckland. When we called back they said we should have known this and that this was our fault.

Been with genesis for 10yrs I should of cancelled 10yrs ago. They are super expensive we pay about 200+ a month for only 2 people that are hardly home, my friends &, family all pay way less than me with more people living at there house & the customer care isn't great either. Giving flick ago they seem algood.I think the smart meters might not actually be correct (they have been wrong before)

We joined Genesis 10 months ago from Trustpower. Great move, no complaints so far! I love the app and how easy it is to use. Love the nerdy stats and seeing how we compare to other households.

The customer service from Genesis energy has been very poor. I've been a customer of Genesis energy for around 13 years.Having been on a gas supply plan for many years, 6 bottle's annually for a monthly payment, Genesis energy cancelled the plan without notification, and continued to direct debit me monthly for nearly 12 months.When I rang to complain they offered firstly 1 months refund, then 2 months after I objected.I refused partial repayment, so it went to dispute and they finally refunded me $523.20, but only because I persisted.Having received the refund I check the next months bill, yes, still charging for the cancelled plan. Probably another refund after another 90 minutes on the phone I'll never get back. Brassed off!

Do not use this company. Most expensive power company and they do not value there customers at all. I switched to flick and my power bills are now half what they were.

I was with Genesis for nearly decade.. But now this is full of rubbish and customer service is utterly poor.. Recently renew energy plan and received 14% prompt payment discount and got two bills without that. I was paying through direct debit last 8 years with many renewals and last two bills ask me to pay.. No one responded my mails nearly months and keep asking to pay manually.

Genesis, along with other power companies, is making massive profit, paying massive dividends to their shareholders, and keeping prices high for their customers. We need to tax Gentailers(Generator-retailers) like Genesis on their excess profits snd invest it in renewable energy - making energy cheaper for customers and creating a cleaner climate. Everyone in Aotearoa has the right to live in a safe climate, with a clean, resilient and affordable power supply, especially during a climate crisis and a cost of living crisis.

I used to have two fuel accounts with Genesis Energy 'Electricity and Gas' for more than 3 years. I used to fixed my account for one year to receive some credit back.This year I noticed that my contract was finished in the month of March 2023. However, Genesis unable to notify me. I called in the month of June 2023 and mentioned the same but there was no exact answer. So i made a decision to switch to other company for better deals and cheaper rates. Later on Genesis finalized my accounts and sent two separate bill for Gas and Electricity Upon checking the bill I noticed the duel fuel discounts was not applied to the bill. I called them and they said they can't do anything now. For me its not a big deal to save $10. However, I find that it was an unfair towards the customer. Specifically for this big company. Anyways, I am happy that I made the switch and mentioned few of my friends for the same.
