Loved our stay at the Bolton hotel. Is a bit tricky to get to if you drive your own car as driving in the city is confusing but google maps helped. Loved the service and loved the view, will definitely be back there again

Fantastic and friendly staff, the room was amazing and we slept like logs! The food and service was top notch. Definitely coming back soon for another mini escape

The beds are super comfy, the view from our corner room was awesome, and the only issue we had at check in lugging our own bags up was remedied when the manager sent up a bottle of champagne the next day. That’s solid customer service to me. Can’t beat the location either, very quiet and convenient.

Not sure this should be a 5 star rated hotel. Over $900 for a 2 bed for 2 nights.. dated fit out, stench in the room, crusty towels, terrible pillows, shower head that needed to be replaced. It wasn’t awful.. but I wouldn’t stay there again

5star. All day long. Dave- you Sir are 5stars all by yourself! Keesha (did I spell that right?)- very helpful. You know, it’s when you ask for things a little out of the ordinary that you really find the measure of something. These guys hear your requests, & make you feel like it’s just an everyday, super normal, request. That is when you know you’ve found top notch service. And then being made to feel welcome, almost like family.Views from 1501 were good.Gym/ pool/ spa- on point. Luxury.Access- you can’t get better in my opinion- 2 minutes off the motorway. 2 turns I think.Nextdoor to RBNZ (Reserve Bank of New Zealand), across the road to Parliament.Great pricing.Did I mention sizable, luxurious, full service, rooms?I’m super stoked we found you Bolton whanau- our new Wellington “go to”.You should too….5star?- definitely.

I stayed at the Bolton some years ago , but today I called in to visit the model of the ship for whom the hotel is named, which sits in the foyer. My great-great-great grandparents emigrated on the Bolton in 1839-1940. The re epitomisation could not have been more friendly.

Nice and closy place to stay. Plenty of space in our room. Handy short walk to access everything we need. We swam and spa every night during our stay. The TV didn't work due to previous sprinkles issue.

Bolton Hotel
I recently stayed at the Bolton for one-night and I encountered a mix of positive and negative aspects that influenced my overall assessment. The bed provided an exceptional level of comfort and the room itself boasted a generous size. It is also in walking distance of many of Wellington's amazing attractions with plenty to do within 10 minutes walking distance.Regrettably, I must express disappointment regarding two key areas. Firstly, my experience on the second floor was marred by an unfortunate disturbance. My morning was abruptly disrupted by the noise and vibrations from the washing machines adjacent to my room. I was woken up around 8am and the noise and movement of my bed prevented me from being able to go back to sleep. Secondly, the room service breakfast, although satisfactory, failed to meet the elevated standards typically associated with a luxury establishment. I got the big breakfast option.Considering these factors, I am inclined to assign a rating of 3 stars to this hotel. Improvements in breakfast quality and addressing the noise issue would undoubtedly contribute to a more satisfactory guest experience, aligning the establishment with the desired 5-star distinction.I would advise that anyone who stays here ensures they are not staying on level two and suggest that they explore Wellington and eat outside of the hotel, especially for breakfast.
