My husband was admitted here and stayed for about a week. The staff at Waikato hospital were extremely helpful and caring. All the nurses, doctors, administrators, cleaners, meal deli erers, orderlies were so lovely. He was moved to the Elizabeth Rothwell building where the awesome care continued.A massive commendation to his Doctor, Joseph Linyana. Such a humble considerate young man.My husband kept referring to him as doctor and he replied to say just call me Joseph. He took the time explain and make sure we understood every procedure that my husband would need to undergo. We were both extremely satisfied with the hospital care.Thank you Waikato Hospital.

Charge nurse, Simiwe on ward A4 - unempathetic, unprofessional, no compassion, rude and very much in the wrong job. My son was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident and airlifted to this hospital so away from home and support. This nurse has made a really upsetting, difficult time even more so. Will file a formal complaint on her suggestion but as she really didn't care less, it indicates to me that nothing much will be done about it.Jade on ward M17 was exceptional, and thank you for the care and support you showed us.

Monday 23rd of January, once again I went into Waikato Hospital Emergency unit, my daughter took me. Yes it was a long wait of 8 hours to be taken in, but I was taken care of straight away, then I was transferred to high intensive unit next day, and I was there for two days then transferred to recovery unit. And then home after 2 day. It was a terrify Illness experience that I had. I am very thankfull for the professional doctors, nursing cares and treatments. (It wasn't covid)

The kiwi Indian doctor in the rehabilitation department is rude, unprofessional and lack of respect towards Asian women. He shouted to my mom in room when my grandfather was admitted to hospital (last 3 days of his life). The caregivers r awful, when visitors left, the caregivers don’t even pass water and pills closer to my sick grandpa. I completely have lost hope in this hospital. Please put a camera for your loved ones in this hospital you will know how they are really being treated. Hospital should take feedback seriously!

Parking always an issue. On entering the ward I was taken back by one of the nursing staffs abrupt questioning made to me as I informed the gentlemen behind the desk who I was there to visit. My grandson. The nurse was chatting to the young man when I arrived and didnt seem to happy about me being there as I obviously interrupted the conversation. Unreal..if you dont want to be there then leave. It is so disappointing to see nursing staff who dont enjoy their work. Granted its not for everyone. So why not leave that vocation and find something else that will make you happy because then that would make us happy.

The staff here do wonders considering the work conditions and chronic understaffing. I don’t know what the board are doing to resolve it and I know there’s shortages everywhere right now but even more healthcare assistants would help. The wards are always clear and staff warm and friendly. To the nurses: You guys deserve the world, you’re the best, don’t forget that

Do not go to A&E unless you have absolutely no other option. 12hr wait to be told nothing is wrong, go home. Spoke with Healthline and they were very concerned that I had been discharged while experiencing some of the symptoms I have. Extremely exhausted and in pain, all for a doctor to speak to me in a rude and dismissive way and say the injury that I can feel and am experiencing, doesn't actually exist on the xray, therefore I'm fine and write things in my notes that I didn't even say. When I'm feeling up to it I will be making a formal complaint about my treatment, or lack of, while at the A&E department

Not sure how doctors from Malaysia can get a job in the hospital? Malaysians are not great in this fields. Chinese people are the reason behind Malaysia’s advance in economy.Malaysian doctors don’t even know how to behave with a patient. This is so sad. Bad behaviour from a doctor is not expected. Even doctor is asking patients what treatments they want!!! This is strange!Doctor should know what type of treatment is required for patients. And also noticed that Malaysian doctor’s behaviour is so bad towards African people. So so sad!

Our twin girls were born 24 March 2023. We had multiple staff across different wards taking care of us throughout our induction, c-section, NICU & hospital stay. Everyone was extremely helpful, made sure we were fully informed, educated and aware of our options and made us feel comfortable and well taken care of. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Thank you to all the staff at Waikato Hospital!
