Big Sky - French Farm

If we could give this place 6 stars out of 5, we would do so. This was perfect spot to recharge before the start of a long travel day home. The space is set on a hill overlooking the bay and shire-like setting. The yurt was comfortable, well-appointed, and incredibly creative. The bathroom was clean, easily accessible, and with high pressure hot water. More than any of the physical attributes of the space, David and Erin made the space incredibly welcoming. Dinner was some of the best we’ve had in all of our trip in NZ and breakfast the following morning was similarly memorable. We felt like we were sharing an special place with travel friends that we haven’t seen in many years. We hope to be able to return the hospitality of David and Erin.

The most unique experience, I run out of superlatives to describe the wonderful accommodation and views that postcards are made for people unable to see for themselves. What an amazing experience we had for our 20th wedding anniversary. Host's Erin and Dave greated us on arrival and couldn't have been more accomadating throughout our stay. Their hospitality sets them apart from others. Dave's barbq 4 course meal was delicious and beautifully presented. The wine and any other drinks from the fridge selection was a lovely addition to our meal. Breakfast was a special treat arranged at a time convenient with us.Big sky lived up to its name that evening as we gazed up at the southern cross and the wider universe. The morning view of Akaroa was stunning as we had coffee. A warm and comfortable yurt with tasteful decore made our stay memorable and we will definately be going back.

What a slice of paradise!We had the most incredible stay. The Yute, bathroom and kitchen facilities are very well appointed.This experience takes 'glamping' to another level.Our Yute was warm, cozy and very spacious. The views are spectacular.The dinners took BBQing to the next level too! Dave and Erin served us meals that surprised and delighted us, not to mention the tastes that transported out taste buds to food heaven.Dave and Erin are warm and attentive hosts.We highly recommend Big Sky and will most certainly be back!Virna and Wayne Smith

Home away from home. This place is just wonderful and the hosts amazing. The views are stunning, the yurts beautiful and cozy and the bed’s perfect for a lovely quiet sleep.Food is always delicious and we just keep coming back.Highly recommended for a short getaway.

What an amazing experience - food, location, ambience and hosts are just second to none. Amazing experience which is only possible when you have hosts which are 110% committed to give the best experience possible.

I wish I could give this wonderful place more stars!! Simply the highlight of our honeymoon trip to New Zealand (which is saying a lot because of how wonderful New Zealand is!!). Erin and Dave were the very best hosts and the food was absolute heaven. The location and views were magical and the whole place felt so cosy and welcoming - we wished we could have stayed longer!
