We got to countdown at 9.50pm having just got off a plane and needing bread and milk but were not permitted entry into the store as they were ,closed" with security turning people away. It is duly noted that they advertise to be open to 10pm. Maybe they need to change their posted opening hours to reflect their true closing time. Poor form."

The pharmacy is very good, love them in there. It's alright to shop at however some of the staff at self checkout during the day have a very negative attitude and look like I'm inconveniencing them when I ask for help. The more younger staff are pleasent though. Another problem is that the radio is way too loud. Especially by the bread and cheese area where I assume the main speakers are.

Standard countdown ripoff merchants and try to push the cashless agenda.The meat at countdown is disgusting and a ripoff.Loathe this company, loathe the NZ supermarket duopoly, it's a rort, they gouge us hard.Actively try and avoid the place.

Expensive. Empty shelves. Not enough checkouts open. Appalling self service section. Had no option but to use it as the wait lines were too long for the manned checkouts. Rethinking using Countdown now.

Big hypermarket in palmerston north. All grocery and household items are available. A big parking slots are available.I tend not to comment on supermarkets, but this is quite a place. Standard food stuff, but a great quality of people serving and managing. I have witnessed care towards the vulnerable that is magnificent. The staff are engaging kind and warm. Thank you.

Really nice shopping experience but some of the workers are more comfortable in providing directions than others. It is okay. Prices are medium range. Sun-dried tomatoes from there are great!

The store has a good variety of items. It includes a chemist for free prescriptions and other over the counter medicines. This supermarket stocks fresh fruit and vegetables and a bakery. The bakery does not make gluten free bread unfortunately. The meat department is good as there can be specials on some items and plenty to choose from.Over all a large well stocked supermarket.

Went to countdown for groceries . Went to Noel leering first then, went and got groceries. Got back to car and had a 65 dollar ticket on our windscreen. Never going back to any countdown store ever again…….

While visiting Palmerston North on a Tuesday I did my grocery shopping. Much larger than Wanganui it was still reasonably familiar and my regular items were able to be found with a little searching. I was, however, somewhat disappointed when told my Supergold card was not accepted there. My spirits were raised however when finding so many other retail outlets close-by in the same car park.... a definite bonus
