The rooms were quite dirty, old and cramped. Had to clean the remote as I didn't feel comfortable holding it. You will also not get a good night sleep as the walls are thinner than your dads hairline and you get lost in the matress as if you're walking behind a Kardashian. Definitely cannot blame the staff as they gave us exceptional service, especially at the front counter. I would say they are understaffed or under strict time constraints. If I had to stay more than one night I may have been worried, but one night was OK to explore Auckland city.

Worst accom I have experienced in a long time. Very noisy, can hear through the walls paper thin and noisy from the st. Towels smelt like they weren't changed as I requested new ones and they were clean. Paid for a king suite and it was two beds pushed together, with a Crack running through the middle. Apart from the lovely guy at reception. Would not recommend this place! Poor quality

Very disappointed by this hotel management and their services.*The rooms were not cleaned by housekeeping.*The bathroom had bugs* While we were gone the housekeeping would come inside the room and turn off the heater. They would fold the old towels on the floor and put them on the bed for reuse without making the bed. When we complained they changed our room with no help to move the luggage. Eventually we got so frustrated with the staff because there was no one to help clean the room and the manager was unreachable. They tried to downplay the bugs in the room which was a health concern. We changed the hotels the same night and will be reporting this hotel to the higher authorities.

Basic and comfortable accommodation. Stayed 2 nights for a business trip.Bed was comfortable enough & my room had a desk & very comfy chair - but my colleague who booked the same room type (at same rate) had no desk in her room. There was an AC unit but I was comfortable enough with windows open and the pedestal fan which was also provided so I didn’t use the AC.Well located within very close walking distance of op shops and cafes (5min or less) and reasonable walking distance (about 15-20) of the tower and major shopping/dining district.

Stayed 1 night. Room was ok, comfortable bed and bathroom, and it was clean! The breakfast it’s abundant. The staff is really friendly. Unfortunately you can heard all the streets noises and also the other rooms. Check in time, (3pm) it’s too late for me.

This hotel is frequently the cheapest to be found in Auckland on the various booking sites, so I have stayed here several times. For the money, a few imperfections are to be expected but its fine. I will only comment on my most recent visit, because earlier visits have faded from my memory. I actually stayed twice in the course of a week - for four nights and then a single night. That last night was in the standard Queen room: I have to say, it's pretty compact but it was comfortable enough. It's not a flash room by any means, but it was perfectly adequate and I had no problems with the internet, bathroom or TV.On my earlier visit, I had also booked a Queen room, but must have been given some sort of upgrade - because everything was bigger! In fact, I was surprised at how big the bathroom was (almost as big as their standard Queen room). The handbasin did have a crack, but everything else was fine. The bedroom was also bigger, with a decent place to put my laptop.I wouldn't say its the quietest hotel around - voices from inside the hotel could be heard, but I wasn't disturbed by them. It is off Queen Street, so there was no road noise to speak of. The staff member I encountered on my first night there was very friendly, and she always made a point of greeting me and making me feel welcome. When blokes were on the desk, they tended to ignore me.

Stayed 4 nights during the 1st week of Jan 2023.Reasons for not giving this hotel 5 stars:*Room is very tiny. Had to move around furniture to make space for luggage*Poor housekeeping service. Call not picked up even after waiting more than 10 minutes on multiple occasions. Had to go down to the reception to get extra towel, often not attended.*Housekeeping is not thoroughly conducted. Bed is not crisp. Toilet paper & tea / coffee are not refilled*Blood stain found on the curtain*No mirror in the room*Shower's water pressure is weak*Provided no facial tissue*Half of the buttons on the TV remote do not work*No free car park space. Parking per night per car is 35 NZD*Cracked bathroom sink is not replaced*Cabinet space is extremely limited*Cluttered space. When I check in, the AC was on full blast, the fan was on, & the windows were all wide open.Otherwise was a good stay! Location is amazing, dozens of Korean & Chinese restaurants at the doorstep. There is a water dispenser in the lobby.

Ascotia Off Queen hotel boasts a convenient location near the CBD, making it an ideal choice for exploring the city. While the rooms may be small, they are well-maintained and clean, with the added bonus of spacious and well-equipped restrooms. The hotel offers good facilities, although some noise can be heard on lower floors(our room at level 3). However, the standout feature is the exceptional staff who provide top-notch service. Commercial parking options are available nearby, and the hotel offers limited parking spaces for an additional $35(booking request). Overall, Ascotia Off Queen provides a comfortable and enjoyable stay with attentive service.Location: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Facilities: ⭐️⭐️⭐️Staff: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thought I’d share my thoughts while I was here. The rooms are small. It is way past it’s prime. Needs refurbishment. The staff are unfriendly. They tried to check me in late AND succeeded. I had just been on a two day trip from Edinburgh and I was in need of sleep!! It has no cooking facilities - I thought it did. I would not recommend staying here at all. Find a corner in a hotel doorway - it would be much more comfortable!!! EDIT: I received all my money back from American Express. It was that bad.

I came to Auckland from Canada to visit some of my friends and stayed at this hotel for one night. Check in time is pretty late at 3pm, but the person at the front desk is pretty friendly. I understand that this is meant to be a cheaper hotel but place looks outdated. The walls are blue and the roof is pretty low. My room was so hot because I had no power over the ac and fan so I had to open the windows. Not to mention the room was super small, with room to only walk from your bed to the washroom. The washroom was actually pretty nice and looked modern. There was also a TV, a mini fridge and a coffee machine with a variety. I did not get a good night sleep for my flight back to Toronto because of the noise next doors and outside. The view was pretty good, with a good view of the Skyview tower and the waters. In the morning there was breakfast which I found pretty good. There are also vending machines which I bought a snickers bar from. Overall I would recommend staying at this hotel if you are looking for a cheap and affordable accommodation.
