Peter Stephen is one of New Zealand's foremost luthiers, he makes a range of instruments from 6 and 12 string guitars, including Spanish, Classical, Parlour, Steel String Folk, Jazz Arch-tops, and a wide range of electric.He has great skills in making double basses and electric bass guitars, including a range of UBE Basses and Stick Basses.Peter Stephen makes an Emperor Arch-top that puts to shame anything I have ever played. The intonation plays perfectly across the whole fretboard and the tone and separation of each note is heard in the delivery of the harmonics and pitch.Peter is very approachable and his prices are very reasonable.
