I love this New World and always have. Great bakery and there is always different produce there.HOWEVER, today, I made a beeline for the bakery as I do when I go there. Waiting, waiting, waiting, no one comes to serve. So, push the bell and over walks the most SULLEN kid I have come across there. It was like I was interrupting his business. No greeting and just a general lack of customer service. When I accidentally tried to grab my pie before he'd stickered it (I don't go here often and treated it like other bakeries where you're able to take goods once they're in the bag) he said very tersely I need to put the price on!" My God

This shop has good selection and range, and is in a convenient location, but are currently pushing a bad-faith campaign against making it safer for customers to get to their shop and other destinations by cycleUts very disappointing to see a supermarket delving into such debates with such poor misinformation.I've ridden along these streets, including to visit this branch, and its very clear to me why most people wouldn't ride though this area, yet their arguments are based largely on how people get around this area currently. The quote Nobody ever justified a bridge based on how many people swim across a river" springs to mind. Their only other argument is around the needs of the elderly and disabled community. I apologise if their work here is in good faith

Friendly staff but inventory management and restocking is weak. Simple sourdough bread is available less than half the time. Endless complicated bread with added flavours, but not the basics. Good chocolate, coffee often missing too. Limited deli. No Asian food. Hardly any hardware. Fish is fresh and good quality. Lost sales? Everything is absurdly expensive but that's across the board in NZ supermarkets. Danish butter is cheaper than fonterra. Madness. Lamb isn't affordable in NZ. No sheep here?

A number of years ago I got followed by the creepy owner Brian! I parked my work car in the car park and walked to an atm machine to get cash to make a purchase in the supermarket. He saw me get out of my car and told me I couldn’t park there unless I was shopping. I told him I just needed to get some cash so he followed me and watched me get cash out then followed me around the shop until I went though the checkout! What a nasty little man! I have not stepped foot in that place since!

Nice super market that offers a lot of things. Not sure if it's expensive or not as I don't have experience with other supermarkets. But probably a good supermarket in Thorndon area near Victoria University and Lambton Quay.

Big New World supermarket with more complete items and spacious parking space. This one is located in the Pipitea area and open from 7 AM to 11 PM.I love the hot, ready - to- eat food selection, seafood and bread as well as sushi. Some of my fave is the ciabatta with olives and sun-dried tomatoes and the sourdoughs. They also carry huge selection of cheese and wine. A lot of birthday cakes as well, including the one you can customizedThe prices for fresh fruits and veggies might be a bit more expensive. But don’t forget to check out their specials.Staff are helpful and the cashiers are fast. It is also disability friendly
