Nothing much except to see the lake. Had some good wildlife like birds near the shore. Beautiful water to swim in.

Just drive past from Hokitika to Joseph Garcia and she is one of the lakes we passed by. Stop for a few pictures and noticed some campers therein. Nice lake yet not so large with camping area. Some cyclists stopped for a break as well.

This is a spectacular little spot on the shores of Lake Mapourika. There's a table and a restroom which is handy too. You can't camp here but it's a brilliant spot for a picnic. Very picturesque with the little wharf heading out into the lake. The tour companies provide canoe/kayak and scenic tour services from here but if you book in town. Only downside is no dogs allowed. Our little guys come everywhere with us so that's a big let down here.

Lake Mapourika Recreational Area
A magnificent lake with boat ramp and wharf. Lots of Knox and crannies to visit my water. Not sure if it’s the best place to swim as there is a lot of water weed. Picnic table available.
