Zero star if possible. The customer service reps are incredibly rude and unprofessional. I called them a couple of days ago as there was a power cut. The rep said she didn't know anything and couldn't provide me with any information in the most dead-pan voice. She then hung up on me halfway through a question I was asking. Ridiculous. To top it all off, my monthly bill nearly matches the power bill from my electricity provider. I'll definitely be looking into this further.

Would be no stars if possible. This company is disgraceful. Increased my daily charges by 1200% when my house was vacant.Called for an explanation and get a rude smug customer service agent who says that my house is now temporary accommodation and I must pay more as its not fair on the other people in the area if I dont pay my share of lines maintenance. I need to get a letter from a lawyer saying I live their before they will change the daily rate back.Power bill for an empty house only running the lines company smart smart meter is $30 per month. The Lines bill for the same month is $90.Also they don't share smart meter readings with Power companies so they still need to send someone round to read your meter.Government implemented no prompt payment discounts for power providers so the Line Company changes to a 'late payment fee' scum

Never in my life have I paid so much for such a basic post modern necessity than I do here.Even in summer my bills are averaging $200+ per month and that is with extremely conservative use of power. I am on low income and am often forced to forego the other basic necessity of life - food.Whoever owns this company ought to be ashamed of themselves.Charging for power like it is a new invention.A warning to anyone considering moving to this area - don't. Go elsewhere. This place is a scam.

Your pricing methodology is poor form The Lines CompanyI have a house at mount maunganui and hamilton and pay $48 - $60 a month in Lines charges in those locationsAfter being slammed with $250 a month at national park just for Lines charges. my family now have to live like we're in a third world country and shut the house down when TLC Load control on the coldest nights of the year just to keep our Lines charges the same as they are in Hamilton. That's while ruapehu alpine lifts are pulling huge capacity off the network on the same nights just to make snow. We're sitting in a dim lit house with to frightened to switch anything on. When we need to keep the family warm on these cold nights TLC beat us up like you wouldnt believe with the load reset pricing charges.TLC pricing methodology is immoral and a disgrace to their 'totally captive customer' base that have no other option. We can change energy providers but we can't change TLC and they know it - sham on you TLC.You have no understanding of what it's like to live under your draconian pricing regime.TLC, you're a disgrace.

my lines bill is 25% more expensive than my power bill , because I consume more power than my neighbours I pay for the majority of the transformer fees . Everybody should pay the same amount to be on the grid , because one uses more power doesn`t mean they wear the lines out quicker and as a consumer the more you buy the cheaper the price.....not the case with TLC . Instead of buying bicycles for school kids they need to share smart meter readings with the power companies , surely this will cut down on costs for power consumers

Rip off, the new pricing regime shows me paying more c/kwh to the lines company than to my retail company. So in effect I have to pay 2 power bills! Even the smart meters they install are hopeless, my retail provider has some tools I'd like to use but they cannot access the meter, which also means they still have to physically read the meter! How stuffed up is that???

this company is difficult to contact and they make paying their bills difficult if you have a job as the post shop nor smart atm's" wont take their bills and all the local banks are closing down or shut buy 2pm. its a shame they have to be used and i do hope we get competition in this space and these guys get shut down"

$350 a month you guys charge me fixed rate a month even though my kids and I practically sat in the dark last winter. You'll take my money but when I enquire about a my free tree trim its like tumble weeds. Quick to send out a warning though if I'm late a day or two to cut my power .

UPDATE: Getting spammed by TLC's automated Faults and Outages text service. 3 or 4 or 5 texts each time, all referring to the same planned outage in a different area from where I live.Their inspector failed our installation on a point that a different inspector said was really picky. We fixed it, then the next TLC inspector failed us on something different that their first inspector hadn't picked up. We went to an external inspector before this happened a third tube, since TLC charges for each inspection.Got one story from the inspector at TLC re: compliance. Then his boss told me aa completely different story, and proceeded to blame me for the misunderstanding. They made us dog up the power cable and pay for a whole new inspection, because they had lost the paperwork from 7 years ago.Complained to them, and they said they'd have their customer services manager (Wayne) call me. He never did.Must be nice having a monopoly...
